Forever young...

I love all the versions including Rod Stewart and Alphaville, even though they are different songs. Dylan's song I love, but am not ashamed.

Also Country Eye Joe fan by Rednex. I have a remix that I put on when I need to dance like a freak for a bit and get rid of some energy.

Doesn't he try to be all hardcore in that? I heard the remix of Ice Ice Baby which sounded like Rage Against the Machine, which I believe is off of that album.

As far as guilty pleasure music, since my sister was a child of the 80's, I usually listened to whatever she listened to. I developed an immune system to such seminal 80's artists like Depeche Mode, Alphaville, Tears For Fears, and lest we forget Frankie Goes To Hollywood. I occasionally play some tapes of one of these bands when nobody is around. [big Grin]

That Squeeze album is not lame! Difford and Tilbrook were the Lennon and McCartney of the new wave. Squeeze had great lyrics, great playing, and hooks galore. "Another Nail For My Heart" is one of my favourite songs, and "Tempted" still slays me.

As for my "guilty pleasure"...well, I like "The Gambler" by Kenny Rogers. It's kind of slow, and has almost become a cliche tune, but I still like it (possibly due to its subject matter; I learned to play cards on my Pappy's knee).

Aloha,

Brad

How in the world can the Gambler be considered lame? It kicks ass. Be proud my friend, be proud.

Almost anything eightes

Europe - Final Countdown

Men Without Hats - pop goes the world

Michael Jackson - the thiller album

eighties metal

anything except Poison (Like slaughter, harem scarem, queensryche, Cinderella, Judas Priest...)

I am an eighties fan. So sue me. I am with Tara and am also glad that ratings are extinct.
