another reunion?

LEGENDARY rockers Led Zeppelin are set to re-group after 22 years for a money-spinning stadium tour of America.

The three surviving members — singer Robert Plant, guitarist Jimmy Page and bassist John Paul Jones — plan to hit the road next summer.

The trio hope to pocket £6.4million for the shows.

Robert, 54, Jimmy, 58, and 56-year-old John Paul met two weeks ago at the offices of their management firm Trinifold.

They buried the hatchet over Page and Plant’s 1990s tour, which John Paul only learned about from a newspaper.

A band insider said last night: “If the right offer comes up they will do it.â€

Trinifold added: “Jimmy is itching to do something, but there is nothing firm yet.â€

Zeppelin split in 1980 after a booze binge killed drummer John Bonham.

His son Jason is set to play drums on the tour.

The band, famed for songs like Stairway to Heaven and Whole Lotta Love, are second only to the Beatles in worldwide album sales.

They still hold records for crowds at their 1970s concerts.

A music industry insider said: “They had so many hits that I am sure the reunion would be a major success.â€

It's great news but is nothing sacred?

It'd be one thing if kids could see them but it's like a fucking $200-$450 ticket type deal for sure. When did this become acceptable. I think the last arena rock show I saw was Prince at ACC (and that was a reasonable ticket).

Awesome. It'll be hard for them to sound like Zepplin (Plants 2 or 3 octaves lower now then he was in the 70's), but I still totally dig his sound, and it'll be great to hear those tunes in a live setting, even with the "new" Plant, which is ofcourse the old Plant.

There goes my budget. This show will cost over $200 a ticket and sell out in a minute. Unless of course they play somewhere like Downsview or Molson Park.

Maybe the right offer will come up sometime soon and something firm will come along, until then I'm not getting excited.

Page & Plant was pretty good...

Hmm.. I'd really like to see Page again, but who is has the monstrous chops to drum for them? The only times they have reunited it was Jason Bonham and Phil Collins drumming and neither did it justice. So maybe Jason has gotten better, not that he is bad but is his dad was insane!

I'd certainly go, but yes Plant does not have the high range anymore, but he is a master of phrasing, diction and inflection. I think if they had a female back up singer in the fold for the high parts it could work.

I'd rather a Page solo effort.....

Also John Paul Jones is 61, Jimmy Page is turning 60 and plant is 58 turing 59.....according to allmusic guide.

either way I'd buy a ticket.

I remember seeing film clips of a rehearsal with Page, Plant, Jones, and Tony Thompson, who used to be with CHIC and Power Station. I think Thompson also did Live-Aid with P/P/J line-up, along with Phil Collins. Sadly, Thompson died in 2003.

Aloha,

Brad

i know, just teasing

he looks pretty rough for 54 for sure.

Robert Plant is 58 years old, not 54.

Plant was born on August 20, 1948 West Bromwich, West Midlands.

I believe this article lacks all credibility. I posted a topic here a couple of weeks ago that talked about Robert Plant recording material with the Strange Sensation and he is also working on a project with T Bone Burnett and Alison Krauss.

There will be no Led Zeppelin reunion in 2007 or likely ever.
