I am out of lunch ideas

Recommended Posts

So the clock strikes noon, and I have no idea what to get for lunch.

I have a pretty normal routine, but plans changed with a co-worker today and the usual Shrimp Wonton Noodle Soup with Chinese Broccoli and Garlic is a no go.

We do all-you-can-eat sushi on Wednesdays, I had falafel yesterday, and usually save the Lick's Homeburger trip for Friday's.

I am sick of tuna subs from Quizno's and Subway, and my cafeteria has nothing of interest today.

What's a hungry boy to do?

Pasta? Chicken? If there's a grocery store near you, duck in and see what's available at the deli counter (the Loeb at which I shop not only sells pre-roasted chickens, they'll even do 1/4 chicken lunch packages, with side-dishes like roast potatoes).

Aloha,

Brad

As we have a fridge at work I tend to buy my gorceries for the week on Monday. With a budget of 10 pounds I tend to do pretty good actually.

This week I made myself chickpea salad, pita with humous (sp?), and apples.

Chickpea salad:

- 1 can of chickpeas

- 1/2 diced red onion

- 2 diced plum tomatoes

- 1/2 cucumber, sliced thin

- 1 red chilli, deseeded

- 1/2 cup of each fresh mint, parlsey, and coriander

- 1 lemon, squeezed

- 1 red pepper, diced

- extra virgin oil

Combine in tupperware. Enjoy throughout week.

The official designation is ovo-pescatarian.

;)

Carrie - I go to Centre Hockey Sushi now once a week with my peer supervisor - it's much better than the place we used to go to, but I miss those lunches too, mainly for the company :)

Fire and Ice is the stirfry place you are talking about, but it is pricey and we save that one for company sponsored lunches.

I opted for the Shrimp Wonton Noodle Soup and had them add in some chinese broccoli, instead of splitting a side order of that with by work buddy. It was delicious, and came to $5.64 including tax and tea.

There is an odd sign on the door at this restaurant:

Please push door harder.

How do they know how hard I am pushing the door?
