Basher
Santana will be playing Casino Rama on April 17th. I know his show at the Mohegan Sun Casino has Derek Trucks Band listed as the opener, so maybe we will get that double-bill too.
backbacon
The casino circuit seems like the perfect place for Santana.
Basher
Yes, and if you have a players card for Rama, you should be able to get free tickets rather easily.
c-towns
I dont think you would even need a club card, they couldn't even give away all of the allmans tickets last time
Velvet
I signed up online for a Rama card but have never heard from them.

Yeah, if Santana was really any good on guitar Nickelback would let him join the band permanently.

Patchoulia
Satana, possibly with Derek Truck Band - Casino Rama Apri. 17th Is that like the evil version of Santana referenced in the post topic? Also, why only one truck?
Basher
I always figured the N was silent. And new border restrictions limit the amount of Trucks you can have in your band name to one.Damn, do you EVER read a newspaper?
Patchoulia
*sniff* *sniff*I can't read! And I'll thank you to stop drawing attention to it..insensitive, unfunny and unhelpful prick..
Jay Funk Dawg
Damn! Santana is my guitar hero - I've missed all his previous Toronto shows - especially sad to have missed his co-bill about '92-'94 with Bob Dylan - I had tickets but had to miss it as my grandfather passed away suddenly. I'm there this time !

TimmyB
Personally I would rather not see anyone at the Casino as the sets are nearly always cut short by the Casino promoters to put peoples asses back at the tables. But if someone I love is playing there I often end up seeing them play a shorter set than usual.I haven't seen Santana since the Supernatural Tour as I wasn't a big fan of that album or that tour compared to when I had saw him last. Much time has past since then and I could see myself seeing Santana again, Casino venue or not.Peace,Tim
secondtube
i saw rusted root open for santana at the ampitheatre....thought RR wasnt that great....as the Santana show progressed, my feeling for RR increased until i gave up on Santana, and wished RR was back on stage. Cully
considering I live in Orillia now, I would probably check this show out.
bradm
I'd rather see Derek Trucks Band do a tour on their own, like the Hamilton > Toronto > Ottawa > Montreal run.Aloha,Brad
Velvet
I agree with bradm.Plus I agree that Casino Rama is not a good place to see a show.

MarcO
me, I like a good old fashioned Santana interview, when he rambles on about hippie consciousness, the universe and the particles of love that keep us together. He's about as deep as Gilbert Gottfried as far as I'm concerned.
Cully
now all he talks about is Jebus.
Kanada Kev
I've seen Santana a number of times over the years. None since that Supranatural show though. That one made me cringe. He'd gone so mainstream at that point and the crowd was annoying. Prior to that, I recall the RR/Sanatana show and Carlos' Jesus rants did go on too long for my liking. I was fortunate enough to see him in Vegas in '91 when he opened 2 shows for the Grateful Dead. Came out and did a sweet Bird Song with the boys one day too Such a fun time that weekend, and it was my wife-to-be's birthday as well Too bad his set each day was INDENTICAL!! I'm up for seeing him again as he is a phenomenal guitarist and can really take you out there. If I can get some of those comp Players Club tix I might just make the effort to get to Rama
Jay Funk Dawg
yeah Vintage Santana is still tops for me - He had a wicked hit in the 90's with the song/album Milagro - it had that vintage feel. The whole Supernatural thing was that Santana was about to be dropped by his record company and A&R people were telling him he was done. I think he purposely went out of his way to do something so mainstream to rebuild his image and the demand for his body of work - and it worked. Now that that's all behind him - hopefully he's stick to his tasty guitar playing and forget the Matchbox20 stuff.
Velvet
No, I don't think Santana is a guitar hero.
