Gr8FuL
In no way am I militant of my Rush hatred. If you dig it, cool. If you think like me and think that listening to Rush is like sitting in a pool of your own feces and piss then right on! Live and let live! Its even worse than that for me, I Fucking HATE Rush... Jaimoe
Another thing core Rush fans have in common is their belief that Neil Peart is the greatest drummer of all time.
balogna pogna
I still think Rush would have been better off to just let Kim Mitchell be the permanent singer and the rest of them could just play. They would have had mainstream success beyond their core audience and wouldn't have so many millions who write them off altogether as soon as Geddy opens his mouth. bradm
I still think Rush would have been better off to just let Kim Mitchell be the permanent singer and the rest of them could just play.Do you mean back when Max Webster was in operation? I think the Kim Mitchell of back then would have been far too antic for what Rush was doing at the time.Aloha,Brad
balogna pogna
The could have told Kim to just sing the songs and keep quiet otherwise. There would be 75% less Rush haters.

hamilton
I like that period from "Permanent Waves" through "Grace Under Pressure". Nice, lean playing, you could tell their ears were on the likes of The Police and such emerging new-wave bands and they adjusted accordingly but not so far that they betrayed their audience, which makes them pretty damn cool.I'm pretty much in the same boat. The whole "2112-sci-fi-trilogy-concept-story" thing turns me off, and the stuff prior to that, with a few individual song exceptions, isn't really my cup of tea either. I did see Rush on the Roll The Bones tour though, and it was a pretty awesome show.
mark tonin
i think i'm gonna go to the Toronto show....too many folks have told me how amazing their live shows are..... so i'll get a lawn ticket. If I'm around at that time, I'll be in the same boat as Steve (pun intended!) I have seen Rush once ... my very first big concert experience ever, when I was in high school. I saw them at the Aud in Buffalo, with Max Webster opening. That concert never really made much of an impression on me, either positively or negatively. All I remember was being somewhat awed by the whole big concert experience, and at the time, I was a relative newbie when it came to "cool music" of any kind. Peace, Mark
bokonon
I started liking Rush when I worked at the book store. I read some small article in a newspaper that Neil wrote, then read one of his books, loved Rush ever since I bothered to listen to their lyrics. Oh yeah, and the Rush in Rio DVD is bloody wonderful! c-towns
what ever happened to Mr.Musicface? I swear we were the only "public" rush lovers back in the day.
Jaimoe
what ever happened to Mr.Musicface? I swear we were the only "public" rush lovers back in the day.I know Jay fairly well - I was in the RTA program with him at Ryerson. Just an educated guess, but I think he distanced himself with Jambands.ca because the genre it promotes unfairly branded his band Uncle Seth. I've never confronted him about this (I never really see him anymore), but I think I'm right to some extent.
Chewie
i'll go again (seen them about 12x) but only if the setlist changes from the 07 tour. mission, between the wheels and circumstances were great to hear (not your standard rush setlist tunes) but set 2 had waaay too much new stuff for my taste cuz i agree with Jaimoe that the albums since signals are not that great...flame away, i like rush...a lot.01. Velvet
I hope Bluesfest books them near that Toronto show.Rush is a trio of very solid Canadian dudes who are worldwide musical heroes and we should all be proud of them.
