Hal Johnson
The late 80's and early 90's were great for the Jays. Understatement of the week! They had the best record in baseball for, like, a ten year span! We were really lucky you know. They might not ever win again in our lifetime. And to think, they won twice! This years team needs to watch this video and get their asses in gear:

djmelbatoast
I have that video.Vernon Wells is completely overrated. He had one good year and you give him 100 million. WTF!?! He can't even play the field as well anymore.Gibbons still sucks balls though. Old school attitude? What is that Jaimoe? Bringing in the closer in the 8th? Starting 3 or 4 bench players in the same game? Shitting the bed every time some one happens to get on base? Taking your only good hitter and making him the lead off man? Is that old school? Jaimoe
Leaving in your best pitcher on a low pitch count (for the inning and with 2 outs pitching to right-handed hitters) to win or lose a game is better than bringing in one of those stiffs in the bullpen. Starting bench players and moving guys around in the batting order means he's shaking up things that need shaking up. He can't hit for these idiots. Booche
Leaving in AJ Burnett when he is CLEARLY done is idiotic. I think its known as pulling a Grady Little.
djmelbatoast
He can't hit for these idiots.True enough. A lot of the blame has to go on the actual players, but I still disagree with pretty much every single thing he has done since becoming the manager. Furthermore I believe they would be a better team if he wasn't there.
afro poppa
Vernon Wells may be overpaid but he isn't overrated, at least not anymore. Remember, Wells is a guy who a few years ago (2004?) led the league in hits.

afro poppa
I wouldn't exactly call the Raptors a mess...but thats just me.
badams
Three games against Boston 1 W 2 L. 4 runs scored 3 runs against. Thank God for the pitching but these Jays are so frustrating.
The Chameleon
Finally the straight talk. Vernon Wells is average at best and way overpaid.Man we need some serious retooling to dig our way out of the shame cellar....
Schwa.
5 wins in a row...almost at .500 from the 6 game losing streak. If it weren't for the pitching now these guys would be dismal. Loving Carlson out of the bullpen these days too. Last night wasn't so good (hit the only batter he faced in the ass) but totally unhittable. Oh, and the sweep over Chicago was the 1st 4 game sweep for the Jays in 5 years.
badams
The pitching has been fantastic and is holding the Jays in there for now. They really need to get the bats going.
djmelbatoast
They've got to score more than one or two runs a game or it's over.
Hal Johnson
They're just waiting for the right time to produce. Its their new hitting coach's method. "I dont care how they do it in the big leagues, this is what my whiffle ball team does and its nagged us 3 world championships in a row!""
SmoothedShredder
Man, my ankles fucking hurt!!! Haha... just kidding... SmoothedShredder
Naw... more the 5 game streak early in the year... just to manage to crawl back to .500. I wish them all the best... but unless you got atleast 10 games on Boston or New York by the All-Star break... you don't stand a snowmans chance in hell of beating them down the stretch. That's okay... there' always next year.
Hal Johnson
It is wierd that they cant hit. The dome is such a hitters park. Ah well, Im sick of trying to figure them out too!
djmelbatoast
Here's the problem. Wells is no good, and they're stuck with him. He would be a great number 6 hitter maybe even number 5. They will continue to put him in the 3/4 spot though and he will suck balls.
