Hartamophone
Capacity at Red Rocks is 9000. Phish hasn't played there since 96. EVERYONE wants to be at those shows, just like Hampton, only now, ALL the brokers on the planet know what the resale value is.Personally, I've made the conscious decision to stop using the term "brokers." We're talking about scalpers, plain and simple. Just because they happen to have an eBay account or know somebody at Ticketmaster does not make them any more respectable than the douchebag in the jean jacket standing outside the venue. The term "broker" only legitimizes them that much more.

ersh
Well... I guess I'm gonna have to get Darien Lake tickets and cross my fingers I'm free for it. I'm sure I could sell 'em if I couldn't make it. So obviously.... fingers crossed.

mark tonin
The campground I am referring to is the one that is attached to the amusement park. It is expensive for a campsite, but that's because the campsite includes admission to the amusement park.http://www.godarienlake.com/lodging.phpThere is also a hotel on site, but it is a very pricey option as it can only be booked for a 2 night minimum stay. There is also a state park fairly close to the venue (a few miles away), and some private camping in the area. Personally, I like staying at the amusement park campground as it is an easy walk to and from the amphitheatre.Peace, Mark
phishtaper
so, i guess phish is back, eh?
Basher
mark, the onsite camping is $200 for one night for 6 people ($140 for 2).That's pretty ridiculous. I mean, if you are going to make full use of the amusement park it is not that bad. But I don't think I would want to get there early, go on rides all day, then hit the concert.Too old for that. Schwa.
Too old for that. How can one be too old for a roller coaster but not too old to ingest copious amounts of drugs and follow a band around? just saying. perhaps a better way of wording it would have been: the basher can't bash like he used to
Basher
I am not ingesting copious amounts of drugs and following a band around.I just know that when I go to Wonderland, by 6pm I am wiped, and usually end up going to sleep VERY early. Kanada Kev
Come on Kev... join us at the Econolodge... did it years back for Trey and it was fine. LOL ... well, maybe i'll be looking for a crash space and I may be in a state that says WTF anyway Hoping the Darien lottery scores me good tix (last time I saw them there I was 4th row on Trey's side ... ticket dump day-of )
Basher
KK - I got 9th row Pageside the day before the show on TicketBastard last time too.Thank goodness too, cause I was gonna buy a lawn ticket in the lot when I got there. And that would NOT have been fun in that weather.

The site I booked cost $148 (for 4 people). Still on the pricey side, but worth it for me. I like being able to walk to the show, and then back to the campground after for a campfire.Looking forward to it, as I haven't been to a Phish show since the summer of 2000.Peace, Mark
Kanada Kev
Hell no. That show was weird getting to. Torrential rains. Those bastard pigs setting up a spot check on the off ramp from the Interstate (delayed us for ages!!!) We rolled into the lot more than halfway through the first set. Listened to it from the outside while i picked up tix at will call and had beers. Lot was so sketchy at that point. Kids with ghetto blasters listening to rap, fights breaking out with broken bottles, dogs fighting, teenage dealers with walkie talkies and inline skates selling everything but nugs (pharmies pharmies pharmies). When we were going to our seats for the second set I had some kid run into me full speed (being chased by security). Was blind sided. His skull hit my temple like a baseball bat. Surprised i wasn't knocked out. I remember looking around (a little dazed) and everyone looking at me like i might pound the shit out of the little fucker. The vibe was just off. I talked to the kid and told him to get a grip. Went to our seats and got sucked into a killer second set. The fungi from the kind Oregonians I met in the lot really hightened the experience So for a weird start, it all ended good. I still enjoy listening to that show. Killer jams. 9/14/00 Darien Lake, Darien, NY Soundcheck: jam > is this love > funk jam > buffalo soundcheck song I: Punch You In The Eye, Reba, Albuquerque, Carini, Oh Kee Pa > Susie Greenberg* II: Drowned > Crosseyed & Painless > Dog Faced Boy, Prince Caspian, Loving Cup E: Driver, Inlaw Josey Wales, Sample in a Jar * w/ 10-15 minute jam at the end Let's hope for no rain this time 'round!!! Won't stay there again. Edited March 18, 2009 by Guest
Northern Wish
If you are going to Red Rocks, you might as well stay in Denver. You'll get better prices than elsewhere and you have to drive in no matter what. Tungsten and I stayed at a killer Holiday Inn (closest exit on the interstate to the venue) that had everything you needed, and even let our roomless buddies camp out by the pool for two nights. Its about a 10 minute drive in from anywhere if I remember correctly........Get in shape before you go, I cannot overestimate the impact that elevation will have on your lungs, your head and your buzz!S
Basher
I am not even going to bother thinking about any of that stuff until I find out if I miraculously got tickets.
FunkyBeats
I just booked at Darien Lake State park. It's about 2 miles from the venue and cost $51 (US) for two nights. I always stay there..pick a spot near site 151, 153 and we'll start a Canadian section! Darien lake reservations. FB. Velvet
Darien holds 50,000 people? 50,000 acrobats maybe, balancing on each others' heads.Although I've only been there once, and that was before I acquired my name-the-room-capacity superpower.
