AD
unless they close off the entire area and only do one entrance, they are gonna have to use those paper wristbands again, no? Maybe this year they'll organize the stages such that you do not need to leave the festival grounds to get from one to another. That would be sweet. Feel free to look at the Bluesfest website. Festival Passport ($225) includes a package of single-day-tickets for each day of the event. Each individual ticket is good for general admission to all on-site shows for that day—with some exceptions—depending on capacity. If you leave the festival site and would like to return, your ticket is your proof of payment. Although yes, it would make more sense to have the whole site as one site. Velvet
Looks like if you avoid the Barney Dansen Theatre and do your stage jumping behind the WIRED tent you should be able to traverse the stages without hitting a 'gate'.

ollie
Velvet's post and Big Wooly Mammoth's post seem to answer your questions fairly well from just looking at the site map.Yeah, I think the Mammoth is right with respect to last year's set up. Now that I think about it I only had to "check out" when I wanted to hit the Black Sheep stage through the museum. If you do the walk around then you remain on festival grounds at all times. rubberdinghy
depending on capacityI heard that they are worried capacity may be an issue during the KISS show.I think there should be a sideshow...AD vs phorbesie in the squared circle. rubberdinghy
There's still plenty of spots available...From what I can tell...Monday the 13th STP is the only show listed.Saturday the 18th doesn't have a headliner listed for the Bank of America stage. What could it be... rubberdinghy
I was merely mentioning they still have spots available at the fest itself. I'm sure they'll fill those with acts, and not tell everyone "Hey, free shows in the market, so lets leave Lebreton Flats. Grab the rope, we are going on a field trip." AD
The lineup for this Blues in the Market things is awesome!I can't find the lineup online but just read the press release at the friendly neighbourhood record store... Nicely done. Now, to see what the schedule is. Hope there isn't any / much overlap with the festival proper. Last thing I want to do is commute between Lebreton and the Market... Northern Wish
Seems like a great idea for music fans, but wtf is Bluesfest thinking?! Their ticket sales are very slow, so they announce free shows during their paid shows. I dunno but it doesn't seem like a great financial plan..... bradm
I know Brothers Chaffey is doing two shows (this one, and this one) at the Hard Rock Cafe in the Market, but they're being billed by the band more as "come by after Blues Fest is done" shows than as shows that are part of Blues Fest. (They're also outside the timeframe of the free Market shows.)Aloha,Brad

rubberdinghy
Apparently, these free shows are being funded by the feds...$1.5 million. Apparently running from the 9th till the 13thGuess no additional acts for the official fest.
