SolarGarlic
A really aged cheddar with a Ritz cracker is the classic for me.Lately I've been diggin' Epoisse with a baguette or plain cracker. Not a cracker, but try stuffing your own olives with aged provolone. Also, manchego with quince is awesome.
fluffhead77
Boursin with on sesame flavoured rice crackers is a good time. Camembert with some sliced, carmelized pears on lightly toasted dark rye can be a great thing. Boschetto al Tartufo (italian truffle cheese - oh god is this shit fucking amazing!) on toasted baguette drizzeled with some really nice olive oil and sprinkled with coarse sea salt. FTW. That sounds like a pricey snack.Actually mike that cheese is very reasonable in price, with the baguette costing a buck and a half and the olive oil is always on hand at home... you're looking at maybe 6-7 bucks for a couple of people. fluffhead77
There's two kinds of that cheese, one with chunks and one with shavings of truffle. The shavings one is just as good and cost much less... fyi...
