boiler
Sorry man, it sounds great which is the most important thing I guess, but this is one ugly guitar.
Jakis
I love old beat up guitars like that so I really disagree. The funny thing with all of tweedy's guitars is that I have seen them so much now for about 7 or 8 songs last night I knew what song they were going to play by what guitar he grabbed. thomson
What a show. Unsurprisingly Wilco played fabulously this evening. Judging by the above-posts regarding Wednesday’s show there were some repeats tonight including Jesus etc. sing-along, Wilco the song, gonging, …. but alas, you’ll have to rely on someone else for a setlist. This was only my second time seeing Wilco and the experiences was much richer for me this time. Such a treat to see a show at which every man on stage play so well. From way up in the gallery Nils’ sound was too low but I did notice Pat Sansone more than previously. Also it was only in the past year or so that I started paying any real attention to drummers, in general, so seeing/hearing Kotche through this new lense was enhanced the experience.During the encore Liam Finn and his female bandmate‘ej’ (the openers) came out to play one song with the Wilco gents. The first words said about ej were “she makes great sandwiches†which my satirical side found comical given that she was the only woman on stage. After Finn exited, Tweedy introduced “our friend Leslie†who, as advertised here earlier today, sang You and I.

bouche
that was a great show. i'm bad with song names, but I'm so glad that they played impossible germany again for us. I liked the crowd interaction in (songs I don't know the names of). we had great seats in row C on Nels side, but his gear obscured a few moments that I wanted to see. He can swap a guitar out in 5 seconds...immediately after setting up a noise loop of crazy overtones. The range of guitars swapped out were amazing. I could only recognize Gibson SG's and Fender Jazzmaster. Here's a great little article on Wilco's sound.Wilco have some outstanding 3 and 4 part harmonies that were highlighted even further with the addition of Liam's bandmate, and I think wife in Via Chicago California Stars. I believe that she was his wife because Liam suggested exchanging his wife for Pat Sansone, and Tweedy responded that he didn't think that it was legal here. Wilco has that pulse that I love. I can bounce at 4/4 or 8/4 or 8/8.... whatever you're comfortable with or have the energy for. If you watch the bandmembers, Nels will be doing a funky chicken on the fours and shaking his body to the eighths while playing 16's. John, the bassist, will pounce his feet at 4/4 and with really cool boots on. Basically there is alot going on that I cannot describe. I watched alot of nuisances while taking it all in. They play out some great poly rhythms on top of basic 4/4 which makes their songs so interesting.Go see WILCO! Great musicians make a great show.I can't wait for the next Canada tour. Kanada Kev
Damn, Wilco is fantastic Great time last night after a shitty day at work. Good to run into a few skanks preshow at the Library. bouche, sorry we didn't cross paths, but we had to dart home after the show So happy they're coming back around here in the near future (Hamilton ) California Stars, Impossible Germany, Hate It Here, You and I all highlights for me. Massey Hall sounded great from where we were seated.

YearsAlongTheSea
Last night was an awesome show. Maybe not my favorite of the three times I've seen them, but solid nonetheless. I really loved that it kicked off with 'Bull Black Nova.' Other highlights were 'At Least That's What You Said,' 'California Stars,' 'Misunderstood,' and 'You and I' with Feist. I also enjoyed the fact that Tweedy pre-jacked during 'Radio Cure,' and tried to go into the whole "picking apples for the kings and queens of things I've never seen," section. I was beginning to think they weren't human...On a side note: The guy standing two over from me, (sorry Starhead) was way too excited. I need to bring a tranquilizer pen or something in the future... YearsAlongTheSea
At the end of Deeper Down, he yelled: "That's the best thing I've ever heard live!" He also loudly announced that they were playing 'Impossible Germany' during the subtle nuances of the beginning of "At Least That's What You Said." He was verbally dry humping the band...
