Northern Wish
Thats very interesting as most of the rumors (PT) at this point seem to be favoring Alice Cooper Billion $ Babies.Posts from the site say the Playbill has been leaked.Of course with Alice playing at Indio tonight there is also speculation that this is a hoaz put on by Phish. The second most rampant rumor is that Sharon Jones will be guesting for the set and that it will feature Exile on Main St.S
fluffhead77
...is that Sharon Jones will be guesting for the set and that it will feature Exile on Main St.SFUUUCK! That's going to be AWESOME if it's true!
Northern Wish
If the Jones/ Exile rumor is true, the third part that had been talked about (again this is all PT info, of which you can usually find a diamond in the heaping piles of shit) is that the Horns have been called in as well. That would fit with the Exile call....

The Chameleon
I still say they will do 'Thriller".This album game is a red herring.

scottieking
No offense to the Giant Country Horns/Trey Band Horns, but if Sharon Jones brought the Dap Kings, this thing could go nuclear. My soul is crying for not being able to do this fest. wavinginthewind
At first I thought that Electric Ladyland would be it the one, but after giving the album a listen I'm not to sure. I'm leaning toward Exile, it make a lot of sense given the Loving Cup connection.
Northern Wish
Exile will be an amazing choice. Rocks Off, Cup, Torn + Frayed, Sweet Virginia, Shine a Light, Tumbling Dice and Happy are some of my favorite Stones songs....

Northern Wish
I think MGMT is unlikely, if only for the fact that I can't see Trey singing a song about heroin.
dogatthestation
Personally my favourite rumour has been the Micheal Jackson "Off the Wall" one.

Esau.
Exile is the direct product of heroin. But I can't think of a direct lyric about the drug off the top of my head. During the recording of the album, loads of heroin was around, but most of songs were outtakes and tracks written or recorded between 1969 to 1971. Some were songs that didn't make it to previous albums, like Sticky Fingers and some were songs just held back because they didn't want to give them to the record company during Fingers sessions, at least according to Mick Jagger, if I remember correctly. That might have a bit to do with finding no direct lyrics, but the opener to the album, 'Rocks Off' would be the one track where heroin is indirectly referred to, but obvious in its meaning.I'm zipping through the days at lightning speed. Plug in, flush out and fire the fuckin' feed. Heading for the overloadSplattered on the dirty roadKick me like you've kicked beforeI can't even feel the pain no more.
