Northern Wish
who the hell wants to party on the 1st? I was thinking the same thing, but then I opened a calendar and noted that the 1st is on a Saturday. Phish probably squeezed an extra 1.5 to 2 million out of the promoter with the extra show. This leaves more money for loss leaders in Colorado! Basher
What extra show are you speaking of Sean? Phish was always going to play a minimum of 3 nights at MSG. And no, I don't think you can put these in the "tough ticket" realm. I mean, there is no chance it will be $220 to just get in the door like it is for AC. Basher
I'd love to go to this run, but only if I win the lottery (or a massive poker tournament).AC is a pricey run, and one that I am diving into head first with no regrets.NYC is SO expensive on and around NYE. If you have a place to crash that's one thing, but any decent hotel will be obscenely expensive.Right now, the Hotel Pennsylvania across the street from MSG (which I would hardly even call decent) is charging $1,100 for the three night run. jaybone
Sounds like fun, but I think I'll be spending my holidays some where warm and tropical. NYC has a pretty amazing vibe that time of year.

Just felt like an extra show....i had the same reaction, felt like an extra show. im probably wrong but i think most nye's ive been to were either three nights in one city or two outside nyc and two in nyc. it is expensive but nyc nye is quite the experience, for so many reasons. Tungsten Gruvsten
point taken - I didn't look at the calendar, I just tried to remember Jan 1st past and all the ones I could remember involved headaches, twitching, driving, or all 3.
