Wow. What a performance last night!! The Leafs simply dominated every aspect of that game. Sens couldn't get anything started against them.

Obvious extra effort being put in by everyone. They all were trying to save that shut out for JS. Well done.

Aside from that horrid last three minutes from NJ, this team has improved phenomenally. I'm actually looking forward to watching the next game ;)

Damn sweet that it was the Leafs that got the pleasure of stopping the impressive Sens streak.

The Leafs played like the Senators did when they were on the winning streak! One thing I noticed in particular was the Leafs were very tough defensively along the boards. The Sens didn't really have too many great chances, Giguere played well when he had to. Combine that with defensive lapses by the Sens and you've got a blowout.

Didn't pay much attention to the first period. Looked and sounded like the game was in Toronto :D Tons of Leafers there.

Wasn't the prettiest game, but it sure was entertaining and surprising picked up the pace in the third and OT (considering that guys were puking on the bench earlier )

Great shootout win for the Leafs and all the young kids getting ice time. Also getting the experience of keeping their heads up around players like Neil and Rutuu ;)

That weird goal that went off the goalie's head should have counted :)

Simply hitting the puck off the goalie with a high stick doesn't mean the goalie had possession of the puck, thus the high stick was a pass, which is blown dead. This is like when there is a delayed penalty and you get a shot off that the goalie saves but doesn't hold onto (offensive team retains possession).

Had it gone in off the goalie without Kessel touching it, it is still no goal as it was directed at the net with a high stick.

How can you say that was a good goal at all?

The only way the play goes on after a high stick is if the opposing team gets possession immediately after the high stick...which didn't happen.

When a puck has been contacted by a high stick, the play shall be permitted to continue, provided that:

(i) the puck has been batted to an opponent (when a player bats the puck to an opponent, the Referee shall give the “washout†signal immediately. Otherwise, he will stop the play).

(ii) a player of the defending side shall bat the puck into his own goal in which case the goal shall be allowed.

Technically, Kessel batted the puck to the the opponent (goalie) ... washout ... no rule of possession ... play lives ... goal counts.

Same as how they technically called the one Delay Of Game penalty correct (even though it is cheesy) when it was deflected out of the rink off the shaft of the Ottawa player near the blue line. It wasn't intentional, but rules is rules.

Whatever.
