  1. I really wanted to go to this but it slipped my mind until right now. His new band and material are amazing.

What's the difference between record of the year and album of the year?

    Grammys

From Jambands.com: Mickey Hart, The Flecktones, Robert Plant & Alison Krauss Win Big at the Grammys Last night, the 51st annual Grammy Awards were held in Los Angeles. A number of artists regularly profiled on the site were honored throughout the night, including Robert Plant & Alison Krauss, who took home awards in the Record of the Year, Album of the Year and Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals categories. Likewise, Bela Fleck---who has won awards in more categories than any artist in Grammys history---continued his winning streak with a Best Pop Instrumental Album nod for the Flecktones’ Jingle All The Way, while Mickey Hart---who received the first World Music Grammy in the early 1990s---was awarded Best Contemporary World Music Album for the Global Drum Project’s most recent release. Other familiar faces that walked home winners included: Kings Of Leon (Best Rock Performance by a Duo Or Group With Vocals), The Mars Volta (Best Hard Rock Performance), Zappa Plays Zappa (Best Rock Instrumental Performance), Chick Corea & Gary Burton (Best Jazz Instrumental Album, Individual or Group), The Blind Boys Of Alabama (Best Traditional Gospel Album), B.B. King (Best Traditional Blues Album), Dr. John And The Lower 911 (Best Contemporary Blues Album), Pete Seeger (Best Traditional Folk Album) and Burning Spear (Best Reggae Album). Also of note, MGMT, whose roots trace back to the Tennessee jamband Accidental Mersh, received a nod when Justice won the Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical for a remix of their hit “Electric Feel.â€
  6. I heard that they are making a movie. They have a live show that tours around England but I don't think ther're known enough to do it here.
  7. I do have this and it is one of my favorite albums ever. I can't recommend this enough:
  8. Luckily this one is also available as a Live Phish Video. http://www.livephish.com/show.asp?show=405 It's grrrrrreat for parties.
  9. Feels like a deja vu from trying to get Phish tickets last week. I guess TM doesn't need any more of my money.
  10. Now I'm in a queue with 6 minutes wait time.
  11. You couldn't even get 2 tix at 10:00 ( I never tried for singles). Now it seems frozen up.
  12. You should start some shit with Nickelback at the Junos (maybe spill a drink on Chad Kruger or something). It could start a music business rivalry like the Beatles and the Stones and jump-start the sagging economy.
  13. Wow. I just decided not to renew my subscription for the first time in years. I will miss Relix (but will always miss the old Relix from 15 years ago even more).
  14. The Steve Martin album is pretty good. Only one comedy song and lots of instrumentals. I knew he played banjo in his early stand-up days but I didn't know what a pro he was. Blurry: do you have much Bill Keith? I've got the "Something borrowed..." album which is awesome and a couple other things but his stuff seems to be hard to find or non-existent.
  15. Was anyone from here planning on going? Last year was awesome. If they'd kept the same location in the Everglades it would have been more enticing.
  16. Promoters Cancel Langerado Langerado has been cancelled. A message posted on the festival's website stated the following: The 2009 Langerado Music Festival has been cancelled due to sluggish ticket sales. Langerado’s independent local promoters, faced with a very tough decision in a dismal economy, cancelled the 2009 event only after every possible option was exhausted. As Langerado Co-Promoter Ethan Schwartz explains, “Langerado has always put the fan experience first. Unfortunately, during these difficult economic times, and facing a first year in a new venue, it’s become apparent that we cannot execute a production that lives up to the high standards of our past events. Putting Langerado on hold was the toughest decision we have ever had to make. We are very grateful for the support of the greater-Miami community and the music community during this difficult time.†All tickets purchased will be refunded. Please look for ticket refunds to be processed in the next 5-7 business days. Each order will be refunded to the credit card in full, minus the included order processing fees. Shipping fees will also be credited for those orders that did not select the free shipping promotion. For information on ticket refunds please contact Music Today.
  17. I listened to the new album (The Fireman: Electric Arguments) yesterday and I kinda like it. I don't know what Paul's fanbase will think of it though.
  18. http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c225/brovich/BROO09.jpg
  19. I've also got the Beatles': Help & Let it Be on LP as well as Bob Dylan's Highway 61 & Desire. I've got Aerosmith "Rocks" as well
  20. Frank Zappa: Over-Nite Sensation: I have never listened to this (it appears to have never been played and is better condition than any I've seen). It's currently mounted to my wall unfolded so you can see the full art work on both covers.
  21. Just like that you guys are willing to let Ike walk back into our lives like he never left? I was just starting to heal from his loss. This is all happening too fast.
