    Snow Flurries

First time I've seen Ollie cry
  4. Any strong cheese. Or mild cheese. It tastes fine without cheese too. Parmesan, any cheddar, swiss or emmental might be good. I'd probably stay away from havarti for this. To test you can always just stir a little into a small bowl and then if it's good add to the whole batch.
  5. Moderator, please make a "Make Shit Up" forum for Booche. Another team for Toronto is a good idea though.

Fuck yeah!! Hurry up snow!!! (but only in Quebec!) That is a funny typo to me.
  7. there are tons and tons of good broccoli soup recipes. here's one i go back to time and time again. i forget where i got it but i've made a bunch of changes, so here's my most recent iteration. Going to make this again tomorrow I think. Broccoli and Stilton Soup * 1 small onion, diced * 2 cloves garlic, chopped * 1 tablespoon olive oil * 2 heads broccoli or more, chopped into florets. If including stalks, peel and slice. * 2 potatoes, peeled and cubed * 4 cups veggie stock * At least 4 ounces (115 grams) Stilton or another strong cheese * A wee bit of grated Parmesan (optional) Directions 1. In a large saucepan over medium heat, cook onions and garlic in olive oil until translucent. 2. Stir in broccoli and potatoes and cook until vegetables begin to release their moisture. 3. Pour in veggie stock, bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until vegetables are tender, about 20 minutes. 4. Remove from heat and let cool slightly. 5. Stir in cheese until melted. 6. Purée soup in a blender or food processor. 7. Return to heat. 8. Serve, with lots of fresh-ground black pepper and some crusty bread. Add some Parmesan if you want.
  8. Montreal is well known for its fairweather fans. Right Booche?
  9. so can you watch sens games or not? i'm so confused. shoulda stayed out of it, but i thought i knew what you were talking about. you live in NB still right?
  10. I think Dave-O's point is that the Leafs are not a local team in NB.
  11. yeah - but if you don't live in the Sens or Habs regions most if not all the Saturday games are blacked out. I think that's what Dave-O is going for here.
  12. the speakers were better than the bands. i'd never see david suzuki speak in person before, wow, he was really good. so was Jose Etcheverry, i gotta look some more of this stuff up...
  13. fucking spezza, all the time with the giveaways...
  14. there has been a ton of talk this about the markets and how local they are. the information in that article, i've heard from a week long CBC series in the spring, there were some Citizen pieces about it, pieces on the news (again CBC). I think it's legit.
  15. weird, because the plan released yesterday had no residential component to it.
  16. me too, but maybe this will be a nice change. i think it will be good for my hangover too.
  17. So yeah = it's a free show between 2:30 and 4, Constantines and Spiral Beach playing short sets, David Suzuki, Sarah Harmer, Jian Gomeshi and more will be speaking. It's a rally for this "Flick Off" environmental cause. Can't really go wrong with a free show like this I don't think. Will I see anyone there? More details
  18. Must not have been the councillor for the Glebe, Brad. Clive Doucet (the councillor for the Glebe) made it very clear yesterday that he was totally against the project. I couldn't find any written quotes to back that up, but that's what he said on the CBC news last night. In the Citizen he said this:
  19. a few years ago i was treated to my birthday cake from there. i don't know what it was called or what was in it besides chocolate, but it was fucking delicious.
  20. so the cons are in ottawa, playing at ottawa U somewhere saturday night. i ran into them at the manx tonight and bry and steve said their show was open to the public tomorrow. great promo. anyways. good peeps. i got too drunk. they are boring people. but a great band. and jay reatard's van is parked under my window right now. what a night for the rock and roll in ottawa. sens win! sens win!
  21. Well, there you have it. Laissez-faire Habs fans have yet to buy every ticket for games on sale now. But it's good for Rich Stadium buyers.
