  2. [color:purple]oooooo that stings
  3. Really? What about roughing minors, unsportsmanlike, instigators, etc? I thought the referee could call any penalty at any time. Hmm. That can't be right.

    Family Day

I'm supposed to work Monday, but might go to Tremblant instead. Depends if it snows like it's supposed to.
  5. 5000 troops in BC 2000 troops in Haiti 2800 troops in Afghanistan I'll be in Vancouver March 5-12, it'll be interesting to see the post-Olympic hangover / pre-Paralympic prep, if they have to do any. Go Canada!
  6. Foobar. Don't know if it's available for macs.
  7. I'm all for you having a good time, so I hope I don't contribute to a downer, but I don't really care if the games are ecologically sound or buildings are consciously-built (kind of a funny term), but there are real concerns about the games and BC's finances. There are teacher layoffs, the downtown east side and many more issues that I'd argue are more important that a ton of gleaming sponsorship messages and a bit of sport thrown in. Since the games are going to happen and nothing will change that I'll be watching and cheering etc, but the billions of dollars could have been better spent to help people who need helping.
  8. The logistics of Vancouver hosting the olympics in Calgary would have been prohibitive
  9. The only time kovalev skated hard last night was in the last minute, in Calgary's end, because there was an empty let. Other than that he was pretty useless. Cheechoo was robbed twice by kiprosoff, but did a good job in setting up spezza.
  10. My iPhone says hello. And holy shit is iginla fast.
  11. Look for me on tv tonight boys. 4th row from the glass, 6 seats toward the end from the CGY penalty box. Warmup is going awesome. Johnson highsticked Mayers already.
  12. I don't know who you're quoting there. Obviously some illiterate fool.
  13. That's probably about half the lineup. They are releasing it stupidly for the latecomers here.
  14. Ps can I suggest a new thread?
  15. What a completely useless way to announce a massive list of things. Thanks for listing them, Sean.
  16. Apparently artists aren't releasingthe lineup until noon, are all these names confirmed or what?
  17. Hmm. Not sure I want to see an orchestra show. Thanks for the heads up. I was hoping for Tony Levin..... Although he's playing May 11 in Montreal with Stick Men.
  18. The part that was off-point was your suggestion or inference that the size of hill had some effect on potential injury.
  19. That's a bad way to think about it for a number of reasons - scientists have done tests that prove that falling on flats at a lower speed can be just as damaging to the head as falling at speed on a steeper decline. The key to that is when falling on a flat the energy of your fall gets absorbed by the body, rather than dispersed along the decline as you fall. (Heck, that study is probably cited somewhere earlier in this thread).
  20. Just to blow your mind, another way to judge a GM is by the trades he doesn't make. Can you list those please?
  21. Misleading headline on this article for sure, judging from what I saw on the canal over the weekend. http://www.ottawasun.com/news/ottawa/2010/02/07/12782621.html

    The new iPad

apple might replace google with bing on apple products, plus google's phone and android phones need to pick up the pace. And other reasons I'm sure
