I dare anyone to say Snailhouse sucks. I like Japandroids as well. Have heard one track from Brasstronaut and none from the others listed above, that I know of anyways.
oh, and dogs get used to the kongs with treats inside. change it up day to day. and they love love love it if you freeze it. plus it takes longer for them to get it all out. yogourt with jam, frozen. peanut butter, frozen.
don't make a big deal when you leave. say goodbye to her 10 minutes before you go, then ignore her. when you come in, don't make a big deal either - wait ten minutes, let her out and don't reward her if she barks / jumps up in that time.
some great acts on that lineup. in addition to what you posted, i'd recommend Timber Timbre, Hey Rosetta!, Library Voices, Julie Doiron (of course), Ohbijou, Patrick Watson (definitely see this), The Grates, Clues, 12-lane highway is always fun...
last year local bands (at least the ones that I know) got $1000 + full festival passes for each member. plus beer and food vouchers on the day they're playing. plus a few guestlist spots. don't know about this year but i'd suspect it's fairly similar. although the bands that played in the market didn't get festival passports and i doubt the payout was as generous
