  1. Sorry to the thread jack a little with the Redskins shit but Sean got me interested in the stats. New Orleans - Defence Rank 2000 - 8th (Head Coach) 2001 - 16th (Head Coach) 2002 - 27th (Head Coach) 2003 - 18th (Head Coach) 2004 - 32nd (Head Coach) Well he guided that team right into the basement. St. Louis Rams - Defence Rank 2006 - 23rd (Defensive Coordinator) 2007 - 21st (Defensive Coordinator) 2008 - 28th (Head Coach) I guess that Rams team didn't really play D anyway but still, how the fuck could this guy be considered a defensive coordinator is beyond me.
  2. Aarrrrgh! Doesn't matter how many defensive studs the Redskins acquire they just signed Jim Haslett as their defensive coordinator. For fuck's sake, Jim guided that vaunted and terrifying Rams defence from 2006-2008. I don't have time to dig up stats on him, I remember thinking he was shitty head coach when he was in NO and I hate him already. Hopefully I’m wrong.
  3. Slippery, I hate the Cowboys with the intensity of a thousand burning suns. I'll be cheering for Purple Jesus and Old Balls Favre. In relation to the article, I'm a big fan of the salary cap era in football and even though the Redskins may benefit (we shall see) I prefer the level playing field.
  4. all the way to way the NFC championship game and then pleeeease get crushed. Very interesting salary related facts for the next season.

Alomar was a twelve time allstar with ten gold gloves and two world series rings, he definitely got a good share of "punishment" no votes this time around but I'm sure at least nine of those voters will come around after making their point.

No he won't. He was 9 votes shy on his first ballot, he receieved the most votes ever for a 1st year participant to just miss, he'll most likely be in next year.
  8. Well after failing to get my picks in one week I was left with one simple goal of beating Booche with a handicap and even then I failed. Ah well, this pool was tainted anyway Big thanks to Schwa for running it and congrats to NW for winning it.
  9. I don't think words can express how sorry I am Eric. Jesse was an amazing person, my condolences.

  13. Last night's game lacked lead changes. Seriously though, what was with the false start call on the Jags near the end of the fourth that cost the Jags a big play and appeared to have no flag (the commentators didn't even see it and questioned why the play was even run) and wasn't replayed. I'm not calling shenanigans or anything, I just found it strange that such an important call wasn't replayed.
  14. Q: What's the difference between Santa Claus and Tiger Woods? A: Santa stops after three ho's.

  16. They're both tragic and pathetic franchises and somehow the latest Redskin collapse along with injuries combined with the Raiders feeling better about things lately Im thinking Al Davis' gang is going to kick the winner.

  19. I'm happy with England's draw. Really looking forward to June 12th.
  20. I loved the Tyson era but I guess one could make a pretty good point that he didn't have too many titanic struggles other than against himself and I was pretty big Holmes fan. Eras of domination I guess.
  21. Hey Dave, I'm working from home tomorrow and unless my boss pushes me some work I've got nothing to do, go post something argumentative in the Jays thread so I have something to do. As far boxing this year goes I really liked the Marquez vs Diaz fight but the year seemed pretty average overall (but I missed Margarito vs Mosley). I'm agree with C-towns are far as recent years have gone as well. The late 2000s seemed a bit dull. Mosley beat some ass but his best fights were early 2000s. Pacquiao crushed some people but yet again his best fights were early 2000s in my opinion. The various late career De la Hoya and Mayweather "megamatches" didn't pan out. Barrera vs Marquez and Vasquez vs Marquez were memorable fights but nothing else jumps out at me. I'm probably missing a few, I haven't paid as much attention as I used to but maybe it's because the fights have been lacking. There has been nothing along the lines of the Gatti vs Ward trilogy (so fucking dope) or the lesser but great Morales vs Barrera trilogy (first fight was great), Mosley vs De la Hoya, Pacquaio vs Morales (the second one I think, can't remember) and Coralles vs Castillo. Maybe I've just gotten tired of Mexican boxing. I think the lack of great heavy weight boxing has ruined it a little for me. For the record I think Pacquiao will TKO Mayweather in the later rounds but I'd love to see Floyd flat on his back.
  22. Alleged third mistress.... (I really don't care that much but I've already posted pics of the other two so I might as well keep the ball rolling)
