  1. I have been known to drop the F bomb in situations that may not be suitable from time to time.
  2. awesome!! if you were closer to ottawa I would do amp repairs and mods for ya...
  3. I was supposed to be going, bought tickets and everything. then I found out I need to do the family thing for thanksgiving instead. now I have to drive to sudbury. argh.
  4. apparently gps has replaced common sense.
  5. walk away. don't pay more than the house is worth, because in the end you will lose money. these people are just being greedy, and they might lower the price once the house sits on the market for a while with no hits.
  6. I would add tool to that list. while the band is amazing their die hard fans bug me.
  7. nutrol is a good contact cleaner. you can get it at active electronics on clyde I beleive.
  8. if you posted your current system we could tell you whether you will have trouble alot better. the main thing is if you have an older system, once you get alot of tracks running, it will slow down. alos if you have an older system and plan on running a firewire/usb2.0 multichannel system you may not have the correct ports for the hardware.
  9. I didn't go this year, but last year they really ramped the security up, and not in a good way. I saw them stalking and tackling people with my own eyes. they were very hardcore last year compared to others. too bad.
  10. not at all.. you can get one of those, or an external on that would clip on to your strap..
  11. I would buy a preamp for it as well. but you could also eliminate the tone control all together and just go straight out to the amp. Mind you some piezo pickups have a high impedance which does not match well with amp inputs. if that is the case you would need a preamp to get the most out of your pickup.

  13. thanks, I know what it is... I was making a joke.
  14. awesome... not gonna make it to moe down this year, so it will be nice to go see them on home turf.
  15. log and lantern, about an hour and a half north of ottawa, right on the ottawa river. its in the rocher fendu section which is non damned and a massive whitewater kayaking canoeing and rafting route. its cheap, usualy has openings, and won't require a credit card... last time I stayed there... Log and Lantern Campground 613-582-7339 I couldn;t find a website, just a number.
  16. As someone in an independant band, who has applied and been turned down for these grants, I fully understand the writers points. but you also have to understand these people want to invest in bands that are going to see a return, not a band that is going to end up doing nothing, or has done nothing.
  17. A friend of mines band played in the barney danson theatre, and they got the same as us, less the trailer and free beer and food. some of the other local bands I talked to got less $ than us and not near the perks, I dunno why.
  18. Hey jonyak' date=' if you don't mind, how much was your band paid for the gig? I'm curious what the pay scale is like for opening acts, especially the local ones. Any other tidbits you feel like sharing from your experience would be great too! Glad you had a great time and congratulations on the gig. Was just too early for me to make it out. [/quote'] Well, we got paid $1500, got a trailer full of snacks and such, we got a food voucher for the backstage catering buffet (very good) and free beer all day... and festival passes, and backstage passes for the day. It was awesoem. I partied a bit with the band of neko case, great guys, great band. Neko stayed in her tour bus all day. All the stage crew was awesome, great guys, happy, made us sound awesome. I was told that by the guitarist from neko case that we need ot have a rider for next year if we get to play, because we could have gotten alot more perks than what we did apparently. they had whiskey and stellas and wine in there trailer. not much else to tell..
  19. Well I gotta say playing on the rogers stage was pretty much the highlight of my musical career and the festival for me. its was so much fun.
  20. nope... my buddy put vodkas in his.
  21. If you are into wine, use a wineskin, under you shirt on your back or between your arm and body. worked great at moe.down last year!!
  22. I had WAY too many free beers yesterday... ugh.
  23. come see me today at 1 pm rogers stage.... Shameless pimping!!!
