  1. I just read that five times. I have no idea what that post meant.
  2. ... which you can wear while you look at homes for purchase, listed by Keller ...
  3. Are those two groups mutually exclusive; or is there some overlap (as I suspect)?
  4. The family doesn't know he's missing? You don't think they've noticed in the last eleven years, and have wondered where he's been?
  5. Closure for his family; for instance.
  6. Yes. He is dead. Did you click the link? It all becomes pretty clear if you read it.
  7. Link to full story, including photos of 'Jason'.
  8. Was this supposed to sound like a nursery rhyme, a la Dr. Seuss?
  9. Okay, so far this thread is a bit disappointing. ScottieKing got into the spirit of it, and DJ MelbaToast and DEM gave it a good effort. Lazlo, thankfully, spared us reiterating whatever his first post was, and popo weenie's trying. jayr gave an educated guess, too. Let's see some better effort, though. I want to read some first posts. I think it'll be interesting to see how people's posts have changed. (For instance, I don't think I've used the word "postings" since that first day, when I had no clue how to speak on a message board.) So, show us your firsts! (Show me yours; I already showed ya mine.)
  10. A short review, by my good friend KindVibes: Link
  11. I wouldn't call them "jammy" at all, but I'm posting them here, because I just love the name of this band... Link
  12. An event of this magnitude definitely deserves its own thread, so I'm stealing a quote from my good friend Weezy from another thread to post here...
  13. So today's the 1st of the 1st. In light of that theme, I am curious about what brought everyone to this board in the first place. What was your first post on this board? Why did you post it? When was it? Here's mine. I posted for the first time, only because I was annoyed (about a topic that will become clear as you read my post) and was looking for someone to complain to. The Skank seemed like a good enough place to do that, even though I had never posted to any message board anywhere about anything before... Link So ... there ya go. There's mine. Now, tell us about 'your first time'.
  14. Hey Matt: Thanks for stopping by to give us an update. I hope that all is well with you in Boston, and wish you the best for the upcoming year. Get in touch with that friend of mine in Boston, too, and say 'hi' for me. c/sm
  15. That was a really moving funeral. Great music; great speakers - sadness and rejoicing all at once. Befitting end to a surreal life.
  16. I really like the way the article ends by giving the impression that our biggest concern here is that there is now a large piece of ice floating around, and it might "drift into populated shipping routes". Or maybe the big concern is that, by losing pieces of our geography in this way, we are losing some of Canada's "natural richness". It seems to me a not-so-subtle way of deflecting attention away from the obvious, real concern here, which has nothing to do with this piece of ice in and of itself; rather only tangentially relates to this particular situation as a terrible symptom of a much larger problem.
  17. Beats: My comment was meant to be read with a certain tongue-in-cheek-sarcasm, for exactly the reason you are suggesting. (I should really have used purple font for that phrase, actually.) It was not intended as a "pledge" to anyone, although I do consider Derek a friend of mine, but that is just an unrelated fact. (It is particularly irrelevant here, given that a person closely-related to BFE happens to be a childhood/longtime friend of mine, too.) My point is that if I were in BC I would go to whatever show interested me musically, all other 'issues' (or non-issues) aside. That's why I'd see Garaj.
  18. Is "funny" Heather's new nickname?
  19. Really? What do you know? I am sure glad I'll be seeing you so soon after this birthday my friend. For now, I will simply wish you a happy birthday, but in a couple weeks we must celebrate your successful completion of another year on this planet. You're the best-est!
  20. I know there have been threads dedicated to this before, but today I had occasion to use a word that I find very unusual: Bailiwick Anyone else feel like sharing some words that just strike them as weird?
