  1. Dear work, Thanks for letting me work half days for the last week and for allowing me to take 14 consecutive days off for the holidays whilst using only 3 vacation days. This work/life balance thing you afford me is truly appreciated and I know how lucky I am. Ms.Hux
  2. BradM, Mike Sasso is playing this. Thanks for the recommendation. Ladies, check out Mike Sasso's Myspace page. Hummana Hummana.
  3. Oh man I am so excited for this but I have to take it easy I think. I have Christmas with my family the next day and last year I showed up very hung over. Two years in a row probably isn't cool.
  4. Jingle Bump Jingle Bump Jingle all the way!
  5. Ollie, I'll make the crab and caviar for you on Friday.
  6. February 21 and April 22nd look pretty damn good to me!
  7. I was the lucky recipient of a gift certificate to Urban Element (thanks Bouchards!). I thought I'd share the Class Schedule with you all. Some good suff in here. I suspect this would be a good gift for any food lover. Also, bouche found the Ottawa Chinese Cooking Studio. which also looks really fun and less expensive. Now.... which class do I pick at Urban Element? It's SO HARD!

  10. What's chow chow? Sounds like a Chinese food restaurant. Do you have a recipe?
  11. I hated fruit cake when I was a kid but in the past few years I've really started to enjoy it.
  12. I have a feeling it's only available in the States and can be found next to the canned cheese.
  13. I'd say you're more of a douche.
  14. I'm wondering what food and drinks are in your holiday ritual. Mine: - After Eight Mints - Terry's chocolate orange (there was one in my stocking every year as a kid). - I make a crab and cream cheese mixture, put it in little pastry cups and top it with caviar. Without fail, I eat these until I could puke, every year. - Good ol' turkey dinner. - Captain Morgan's spiced rum with egg nog or mulled apple cider.
  15. Are you kidding me bouche? Actually thanks for posting them. My ipod's not working and I couldn't listen to them today.
  16. I'm with ya phishtaper. I can listen to any Christmas music. Since it's only acceptable in December (shame), I try to pack in as much as possible.
  17. I mustn't have enjoyed computers at all when I was in school (not much has changed). All I remember using them for was Print Shop and Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego.
  18. I'd rather read Velvet's coverage than any other media. Such a unique perspective. Perhaps it might even encourage me to pay a little attention to the olympics this time. I haven't since I was a child.
  19. My grandmother used to make me sit at the table until the plate was cleared. I was always the last one at the table while everyone else was out playing. I recall sitting there for up to an hour after everyone had been allowed to leave. I seriously think I'm damaged because of that. I still clear my plate to this very day even if the portion sizes are way too big and I was full a long time ago. The guilt I feel.
  20. Agreed Myrna. I think Booche is a goof for entirely different reasons. Now Gateaux, I judge.
  21. Oh yeah and Booche should quit smoking. Totally. I say it 'cause I love.
  22. Yup, that's right NW. I'm in the tourism industry which is heavily impacted by recession. Take away the arts related draws to our city and we'll be facked in '09. Ottawa really dosn't have tourist draw the way folks think it does. It takes A LOT of marketing dollars and festivals to get people here.
