  1. I hope they saved that portrait of the Queen from the old arena. It wouldn't be hockey in Winnipeg without it!
  2. So are you saying "Live and Dangerous" has a "Bad Reputation"? Ha Ha! I'll be here all week folks. Try the veal.
  3. "Later this year we'll be going into the studio to record our live album" - from an Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull) interview I heard on the radio way back in the '70s
  4. I'll tell you what constitutes lack of education: It's the red-necked co-worker in the lunchroom who announces "Immigration causes crime. I read it in the Sun". or: "If you buy that Jap car, you're supporting the Tal-ee-ban". These are true quotes by one of my co-workers at a small manufacturing company in 2002-03.
  5. Here's what a fly on the wall heard during recent Conservative party strategy meeting: Adviser: "Mr. Harper, our research indicates a significant number of poor people vote for you". Harper: "Poor people!? Excellent. We must have more of them!"
  6. from the Ottawa Citizen: Pearl Jam coming to Ottawa Influential Nineties band Pearl Jam will perform at Scotiabank Place Sept. 14, part of a cross-Canada tour to celebrate the group’s 20th anniversary. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. May 27 for $69.50, plus taxes. Mudhoney will also perform. The band’s last Canadian tour was in 2005.
  7. The listings for that stage look a little thin. I'm sure they will be announcing some more acts in the near future. All those bands are good, but for me it's the guitar wanko-mania of Joe Satriani that will draw me to the Claridge stage.
  8. AVG is pretty good, and still free link here
  9. Very appropriate comment Jaimoe - we'll be making many a long run when gas is no longer affordable.
  10. It's hard to top SF Giants pitcher Brian Wilson's beard!
  11. Yeah, the torture museum was cool, even if it was a bit tourist-trappy. Just don't eat a bag of shrooms before visiting any museums Dima, and you'll be fine!
  12. You're totally gonna enjoy Prague. It's one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Most people at the hotels, bars, restaurants and other tourist places speak English. Some of the sights you'll see for sure include Prague Castle and the Main Square, the river and bridges. It has been a long time since I was there, I can't recall any specific names of good bars and restaurants, but it's very walkable city. Start at the Old Town Square and you can't go wrong. It's a great country, especially if you like beer and beautiful women! If you're into beer you'd like the brewery tours in Plzen and České Budějovice. Český Krumlov is a beautiful picturessque town worth visiting.
  13. If by "stay in line" you mean "don't snort rails off a hooker's rack", then yes!
  14. Totally agree Kev, if if it can be made secure, foolproof, and anonymous, I'm all for on-line voting. I filled out my census form last night - on-line.
  15. Yeah - we'd see 102% exercising their votes!
  16. I think the extremely poor leadership the liberal party has had since the departure of Paul Martin contributed more to their demise than anything else.
  17. Poilievre strikes me as the type of guy who, in grade school, received wedgies on an almost daily basis. Baird strikes me as the type of who, in grade school, frequently administered wedgies.
  18. Just for fun.... Vancouver in 7 Detroit in 7 Boston in 7 Washington in 5
  19. Man. I was way off! I'll take the liberty of starting the 2nd round picks thread.
  20. I paid $488 for two regular passes in the pre-sale today. That includes all charges.
  21. Am I the only one somewhat underwhelmed by this year's line-up? It's a bit of a let-down after all of those rumors that I started. That said, I'll still be there every night.
