I'm gonna go out on a limb here. I enjoyed the half-time show. I'm just disappointed there were no exposed female nipples. For his 2 minute appearance, Slash probably got a bigger paycheque than Axl has seen in years. On Axl's birthday, no less! I'm sure it did make his day. I prefer the rock acts that have played in recent years, (U2, Stones, Petty, Springsteen, etc.) but last night's performance was way better than what half-time shows used to be - "New Kids on the Block" and "Up with People". The over-the-top spectacle of the Peas was perfect for the event, and makes them one of two acts to play the half time show of both the Super Bowl and the Grey Cup. Next year, I want Metallica.

I don't know about that Ollie. Criticism of The Tea Party (the band, not the movement) has gotten pretty tired too. Meg's drumming though was perfect for the Stripes. She's no Peart though (just sayin'!)

We've made chili using this recipe several times now. It's excellent. The cinnamon is a nice touch with all the spiciness.

Hey Ollie, I think no matter what you make, if you drown it in Heinz ketchup, you'll get the true "indigenous to Pittsburgh" flavor! As for me, I'm thinking of going skiing on Sunday. If so, I'll be home just in time for the game. I'll probably have the usual snack foods on hand. Nothing too fancy this year.

No worries Dinghy - the Art-is-in bakery has caught that bird and has placed it in a digital smoker for the weekend. Next Tuesday it will be ready to be sliced and smothered in truffled mayo and served in sandwich format on a lightly-pressed baguette.

We went there for lunch today. The sandwich I had was excellent. I noted the hours for those asking: Mondays: closed all day Tuesday - Friday: 7am - 6pm Saturday: 8am - 4pm Sunday: 10am - 3pm
