  1. Such said news I loved that band. Don't underestimate the power of movies to greatly influence public opinion. I think a lot of people "hate the fuckin' Eagles man" just because some dude said that in a movie. Similar to how sales of merlot plummeted and people stopped shopping at Kmart because of quotes from popular movies.
  2. So happy to be included in your list twice Brad! Here is my list for 2015. Considerably fewer shows than you - I don't get out as much as I used to. I did get to see the Barr Brothers 4 times though! 3. "Shoot da puck Dickie" My former father-in-law attended many a hab game in the '50s and he told me that's what the "Frenchmen" (his word, not mine) would say whenever the puck was on Dickie Moore's stick. When watching games on television with me 45 years later, he would shout "shoot da puck Dickie" at the television several times over the course of the game, even if the habs weren't playing. Good times!
  4. That might just have been the most exciting, and the coldest, sporting event I have ever attended! Who's with me on the Greyhound to Winnipeg?
  5. Love the way lawn chairs are relegated to the back, just like every other festival in the world! I have an extra pair of tickets for Saturday night if anyone's interested. $40 for the two, which is slightly less than what they cost me.
  6. I have an extra ticket for tonight if you want it for $20
  7. They have announced their New Years Run at MSG this year - 4 nights, Dec 30th through Jan 2nd. The lottery is in progress, ticketmaster on sale date is Oct. 2nd. I'm going this year. http://tickets.phish.com/
  8. Ha Ha! that's a great photo of Rex Under Ryan's strict defensive tutelage this season, the Bills won't suffer the agony of de'feet'
  9. Magnaball for me. Hey, that's one month from today!
  10. This new fest was discussed here back in the winter: http://jambands.ca/f/index.php/topic/67945-new-festival-coming-to-toronto-area-from-bonnaroo-co-founder/?hl=wayhome#entry709358
  11. It's not really sold out. More tickets will be available closer to the date.
  12. Did anyone here buy tickets? I had a pair of lower bowl tickets in my shopping cart, but balked at the price. I'll wait until closer to the date to make my decision.
  13. Crisis averted! http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/nova-scotia/evolve-festival-likely-saved-after-insurance-provider-found-1.3142653
  14. When I saw the title of this thread, I thought one of Nova Scotia's most well-known music festivals was a response on the game show. "Slippery slopes for $1000, Alex"
  15. I have other plans for June 30th, so you can have my pass Velvet.
  16. Thanks for coming folks! Had a great time it was a small but appreciative crowd. Dan was fantistic, really like his style.
  17. Bouche had me fooled at the Carleton Tavern on Friday night. I had been a long time since I had seen him so we were catching up. Me: "I'm quite impressed with the lineup for City folk festival" Him: "Really? I thought it sucked" (accompanied by a convincing scowl) Me (thinking has it really been that long since I've seen him?) "Why, who would you rather see?" Him: "That DJ Zed who played at the bluesfest" anyway he had me fooled for a minute, I really thought he was serious. Good times bouche!
  18. Yep, that's gold Bouche! My question is, how can Quebec City put on a festival of equal grandeur, with a much better lineup (IMO), and charge about 60% less that the bluesfest for a pass?
  19. You beat me too that AD, I was just going to post how inexpensive these passes are compared to the bluesfest. Much better lineup too. Vive le Quebec!
