  1. That'll be good. They opened up for the Who last November too. Vintage Trouble are a fun live act.
  2. That song was "Tough Times" and it was really weird that they played the recorded version (but the singing was live). I don't understand why they had to the play the recorded version, it's a very easy song to play on guitar. They should have left it out of the set if they couldn't play it live.
  3. Yesterday was the place immediately to the west of sparks & kent st. Can't remember the name. Today I went to "Texas Rangers" and got ribs. Good, but sauce a little too sweet for my liking.
  4. I was satisfied with my pulled pork sammy yesterday. However, I've been told that I have very low standards when it comes to any kind of take-out food. They jacked up the prices of everything by $1, compared to last year.
  5. how will they credit us? it better not be with a discount on next year's passes
  6. Got my early-birds! Ridiculous extra fees though. Still, $96.50 is a good price for 5 nights of top-notch hipstertainment.
  7. If the ticket sales are to be run like those of the bluesfest, those early bird passes will only be available for an hour or so. So get on it early folks! I've got a meeting that I can't weasel out of until 11:30, so I'll probably be s.o.l.
  8. That small print says they'll be performing their "Live at the Fillmore East" album in its entirety. Well, it doesn't exactly say that, but that's what I have heard. So tempting to go to this fest. If the Ottawa Folkfest lineup is as half-assed as the bluesfest, I just might be off to Virginia!
  9. Oh, just found out: tix on sale April 25th. 4 months before the show!
  10. Anyone know when tickets go on sale? I get antsy if I can't buy tickets at least 6 months before the show!
  11. First in line yesterday at a local tm outlet to get SPAC tickets, best we could do were balcony seats. Which should be good but would have definitely preferred closer. Nothing but lawn tickets available by the time the 3rd guy in line had his turn. Earlier yesterday, I ordered tickets online for Mansfield, got pretty good seats in the lower level right off the bat. Not much luck today ordering tix onlinje for Canandaigua, slow getting through and now nothing but lawns. I'll see what comes up at a later date.
  12. Here's a fun game you can try ... ask them what they think of John Mayall playing Bluesfest. Bask in the blank looks. I did that. The response was "Who's he?"
  13. I like the bluesfest discussion here on jambands.ca. Over on facebook, all you get are the ramblings of the semi-literate, expressing anger because their favourites aren't playing, followed by 9 question marks.
  14. LInk to Ottawa Citizen article which includes a numbered list of artists announced thus far, including those not on the poster. Check #100 Velvet!
  15. Ah, I'm not that pumped about it. The lineup is not bad, but not great. Still, there are many acts I'm interested in seeing this year. I will go most nights. I'll be in Saratoga Springs for Phish shows during the first part of the bluesfest. Buried deep in the line-up announcement was Goddo, a power trio rock band that played at my high school way back before many of you were born! Goddo was my favourite band for a while when I was 14.
  16. I'm in for Mansfield, the first night @ the SPAC, and Canandaigua. See y'all there!
  17. In like Flynn for the Vermont show. Got sweet 3rd row seats!
  18. I would have no problem donning my $49.50 charcoal-grey suit for a concert.
  19. You are indeed winning NW! That's a busy dance card.
  20. I'm with phorbesie. Really enjoying the band these days. Just wish I could go to more shows!
  21. I just drooled on my monitor. Thanks for sharing your smokey meat pictures!
  22. Ah, isn't wonderful to be able to express differences in opinion? I watched the webcast and I thoroughly enjoyed the 2nd set. I'm looking forward to rocking to the new songs at the next show I attend. I'll be the one dancing like Abe Vigoda.
  23. I thought the new material was excellent.
  24. downtown Toronto hipsters in their 20s and 30s are going to have to bother to get off their asses and vote in the next election!
