From the Cruiser There were 168 reports made to RCMP in Kings county between Sept 23 and Sept 27 These are my favorites: "A report of a suspicious person in Berwick was actually a construction worker watching concrete curbing dry." "A home in Wolfville was broken into. Cheques, a USB drive and three cans of pop were taken." "A mother left a 5 month old baby for three hours with a friend working at the mall in New Minas." I wish I knew more about that last one, but that's all they have to say about it.

Its funny, b/c if you watch the video at the top of the page, they obviously put a lot of effort into the overall sound of the record, but it almost seems that these days it's rather futile to do something like that, as most people are just gonna download it and give it a listen through their lap-top, never fully hearing what the artists intended them to hear. Weird.

Im thinking the Phills and Yanks are too strong, but it would sweet to see a Minny-Cincy final.

Yep, you can customize the order. Just noticed you can make it a keeper draft too, which could be fun, but maybe we should wait for next year to do something like that.

So anyway, draft is TOMORROW NIGHT fockers, hope you've all done your homework! I've gotten over the previous drama and now I'm excited to make up for my crappy football showing thus far. A couple of things, too: 1) I had this idea, which I know you guys will hate, but Im gonna run it by you anyway: How about this years final standings dictates draft order for next year? So, if say, Choke-Towns finishes first, he gets first pick next year. I've thought this over and I can't see any reason that this would upset someone, but Im sure it will, so let me know please. (I'd say lets put it to a vote, but less than half of the group seems to respond to those things in the first place (which renders the voting useless, ahem, everyone that was against my stat changes ), so I will just have to make the decision based on general comments I guess) 2) We have to decide how trades will work. The easiest way, IMO, is to just let every trade go through, no matter how we feel about it. Hopefully, by having this years standings dictate next years draft order, the trades will police themselves. Well?

Ya, what the hell is that?! Made me think tho, why haven't more teams adopted the camouflage strategy?

Why would they even bother starting Price for that game? What the hell were they thinking?!? The worst that could go wrong went wrong. I know its only pre-season, but the guy is fragile enough as it is, I can't see it as being your regular "nobody should care, its only pre-season" story.

Someone else somewhere said, hey you know what, defense is a big part of hockey too, wouldn't it be fun if there was some way you could put a value on it for fantasy hockey purposes? Whatever guys...aside from Tissue Man who made a somwehat logical argument for not including hits, NO ONE here has made any half decent attempt at explaining why the new things shouldn`t be included. Like I said, you guys got two out of three. Blocked shots are gone, and the goalie ratings have gone back to last year. I'm taking the liberty of keeping hits though.

Right, because "tackles" are a meaningless part of football and no one keeps track of such a uselss individual stat anyway. In my opinion, scoring only for goals, assists and sometimes PP points (which is I guess the standard, and what everyone here seems to want) is like "fantasy shinney hockey," and to me makes it "stupid and a joke." Differnet strokes, I guess. Edit to add: So far I've laid out an argument for the extra categories; they give an opportunity for a player's true value to be exposed, and therefore make it slightly harder to pick your players. Y'know, adds a challenge to the game. To everyone against said rule changes, we have the argument that the extra categories will only "end in disaster," and that they are "stupid". Nothing else. I need something else though. :nhl: Oh, aaaaaaannnnnnd, apparently the growth of fantasy sports has been feuled by the addition of non-traditional stats.
