  1. I have faith. These songs are already tried, tested and true. I can't see Neil not doing justice to them.
  2. I'm sure you two likely have plans in the big city, but in the event that you don't and given Lanois is an early show it may be worth considering the Diesel Dog show in Kitchener to top your night off. I suspect that's where you'll find a lot of us. And some serious good times.
  3. Ha. Never realized that either. I guess I'll shamefully admit I assumed it was a french word
  4. Sure looks like you've found yourself from where I'm standing
  5. Some tasty additions. Late night Yonder at all good a couple years back was fun. Could be a caravan you could hop in on NW. Will keep you posted.
  6. I would have figured a "real" rockstar wouldn't need the KY
  7. Officially in! Super excited and perusing band's sites to try and guess who the final additions may be... I think I'm hoping for The Devil Makes Three, or Dumpstaphunk... Was really digging G Love's new album. I'm glad it was shared with me as I wasn't anticipating liking it so much given my past (and negligible) familiarity with him. The new album as Avett Brothers all over it. The Flaming Lips will be a first for me too. And very much looking forward to The Wood Brothers (in addition to all my staple favourites)
  8. Ha. 1 large tube of KY jelly. Maybe that's standard for all I know...
  9. Quite certain Ian and Dave Thomas are from Dundas too. Sorry for the highjack!
  10. Weird. Honestly none of those names jog a memory for me. I've heard of Caribou but never knew the Dundas connection. Guess I have to look him up. I didn't think there were many people from Dundas that I wouldn't know by name (let alone anyone of any musical significance). Cool.
  11. Great review and photos. I particularly liked the closing remarks.
  12. I'm truly puzzled why I do not know this guy
  13. I've got nothing but praise for those boys! You should definitely catch them
  14. Just padding/patting your post count eh?
  15. How was it? I hate eating tickets and was a little disappointed to have missed this. Ended up getting engulfed in other happenings. Hope everyone's night was memorable.

    Furthur Summer

Hmmm...I had assumed they weren't touring this summer given all the side projects....
  18. Noticed the following was posted in the Ottawa events listing section. A ways away, but I had meant to comment on Brown Bird earlier. They recently opened for Devil Makes Three in Toronto. I knew nothing about them. But they were so, so good. Extremely talented instrumentalists, great, dark harmonies. If you love stand-up base, fiddle, etc without a conventional blue-grass sound you should definitely check them out. Devil Makes Three were great too. But the crowd ruined it for me. I've got nothing against punks per se, but moshing, crowd surfing, head busting, pushing and blood in a venue like The Horseshoe is definitely not my cup of tea. The band certainly didn't appreciate the disrespect either between getting hit in the face with their own mics and being flipped off by people in the audience. Not sure if they'll return after that debacle which is a damn shame. But Brown Bird mentioned they were returning with Horse Feathers to Toronto and Ottawa. They deserve some love. spectrasonic and punkottawa.com present HORSE FEATHERS (Portland folk/indie, Kill Rock Stars recs) www.horsefeatherstheband.com www.facebook.com/pages/Horse-Feathers/ 38877626075 BROWN BIRD (Rhode Island folk/indie, Supply & Demand recs) www.brownbird.net www.facebook.com/brownbirdmusic Tuesday May 1 @ Mavericks (221 Rideau St.) Licensed 19+ - 8pm doors - $12 advance + service charges tickets available at Vertigo Records, The Record Shaap and www.ticketweb.ca direct ticketing link: www.ticketweb.ca/t3/sale/SaleEventDetai l?dispatch=... facebook event page: www.facebook.com/events/33175587353509 2 www.spectrasonic.com www.punkottawa.com ----- follow us on twitter - www.twitter.com/spectrasonic join our NEW facebook page - www.facebook.com/spectrasonic or go to www.spectrasonic.com for more info on this and other awesome shows
