  1. I can't believe that this hasn't been posted yet...seems like a cool collab to me Ryan Adams Confirms In-Studio Collaborations With John Mayer And Bob Weir https://liveforlivemusic.com/news/ryan-adams-john-mayer-bob-weir/?fbclid=IwAR049lySpH2TmMbk2Eg-3ovyVaMsdcSv3aIO95rwUtD-jsPZSxkloTKu55A
  2. No way. Still suspicious in my books. Bring back the purple font!
  3. Everyone is working hard to design a system that can get around you two and make it more just for the rest of us.... Shit show for sure. I had verified, but was kicked off twice. Ended up with decent 300s I suppose...was able to pull better 200s after the fact but didn't really want to drop more money. I suspect there will be a tonne of tickets to be had but I may be out of touch...?
  4. I wonder how much of a difference, if at all, there will be? Having said that... just when you think you can't get any higher...
  5. I'm not on social media but my students have been talking about the 10 year challenge craze. I found this to be an interesting read which suggests it may all be (just another) data mining tactic https://nationalpost.com/news/world/the-10-year-challenge-really-really-looks-like-a-data-mining-operation?utm_source=Ryerson+Today+Contacts&utm_campaign=6e50a6affa-20190121&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_4843a7a799-6e50a6affa-53446655
  6. I watched the netflix documentary called "Fyre" on this whole debacle. Just mind-blowing...and a sad window into our world of "influencers" and the industry feeding insatiable longing for exclusivity. Apparently there are actually two documentaries on this shitshow: https://www.cnet.com/news/netflix-or-hulu-which-fyre-festival-documentary-you-should-watch/ While they give some passing nods to the Bahamian workers who slaved for months and went unpaid, I don't think they begin to do justice to the social and ecological exploitation and implications of this entire mess, or that likely would have gone entirely ignored if this had even remotely panned out as planned for those who were in attendance. While I've thought about it many times before, it really made me think again about my own festival-going patterns of consumption...so much to be grateful for, and also so much more that we need to do better on in terms of raising levels of consciousness about the footprint of our mystical musical ventures.
  7. And The Last Waltz.... This will surely be fantastic. Sure wish I could get a copy of it today and hunker down in this snow storm with a blanket and a bowl of chips...
  8. You just make sure you get yourself there....maaaan!! One way or another
  9. Agreed with your comments...I enjoy them more and more each time I see them. I love their material and really enjoyed the new stuff. They jam like the wind and their covers are always choice and super fun. Could You Be Loved????!!!!.... that was a joyful highlight.
  10. Was so great finally meeting you and Sarah in person! What an amazing double bill in a majestic theater. Had the best seats in the house as far as I was concerned. Very surprised to hear they didn't mix it up at all over the three night run (nonetheless you lucky devils). And agreed....I really need to see these guys for a full show of their own. I was also quite captivated by the bass. The sound and vibration was super powerful at the Palace. His name is Dan Horne and he also plays with Grateful Shred, Jonathan Wilson, Beachwood Sparks, The Skiffle Players. I just love the kinship between these boys so much !! I wish they would get added to Peach (late night)
  11. Didn't see Toronto coming at all, and definitely a pleasant and welcomed surprise! Especially since I was away for the rescheduled cancelled gig...ugh that was a stomach sinker
  12. Looking forward to seeing these CATS along with Greensky Bluegrass this coming Thursday in Albany. Will be a tease to only see a partial show, but haven't seen them live yet so we'll take what we can get.... and with that double bill can't go wrong.
  13. Beat me to it. Hoping now phish will announce the rest of their tour plans
  14. I have been really saddened to hear of this news. Seemed like some tough final years to her life from the vantage point of an outsider that really doesn't know shit...heart goes out to her family past and present
  15. I attended Woodstock '99...one of my first big festivals and overall had a great experience despite how green i was and being at the beginning of the end of my first real relationship. I left before or was completely unaware of any fires and riots. There was an interesting mix and at times tension between different scenes and vibes at times but the line-up tried to appease almost anybody. I managed to see (in no particular order) Bernie Worrell, George Clinton and P-funk, Mickey Hart, The Hip, Counting Crows, Rusted Root, Rage Against the Machine, Metallica, moe., Bruce Hornsby, Sheryl Crow, Dave Matthews. Looking back can't believe I missed James Brown, RHCP's and string cheese. Compromises I suppose. My girlfriends camped beside me had a feckin truck run into their tent in the middle of the night while they were in it!!! So thankful they weren't hurt! Been chasing festivals ever since.
  16. I hope y'all have had a dose of love in some shape or form. Merry Christmas!
  17. Happy 75th to the man! You all get it. Enough said. https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-lists/keith-richards-wildest-escapades-19-insane-tales-from-a-legendary-life-169242/the-pirate-of-weston-1991-65681/
  18. This seems to help explain what's going on. This can't be the only solution...feels like a wolf in lambskin. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/taylor-swifts-ticket-strategy-brilliant-business-or-slowing-demand-630218/amp/
