  1. Billy Strings brings the heat there is no doubt. He really blew me away despite being warned
  2. Long live Willie! He is a living breathing historical archive
  3. I'm really saddened by this. I love this band and they are not CRB without MacDougall. What a blow to not get to experience them one more time. I follow them closely and this certainly appears to be very sudden and disruptive. He has also left As the Crow Flies. Jeeeez.... So grateful for the countless life changing good times I have had with this band
  4. A silver lining perhaps? Kudos to Billy Strings. I hope more will follow https://www.jambase.com/article/cashortrade-billy-strings-partnership
  5. Steve Gorman is going to be releasing a memoir. I will definitely be reading this (love my musical biographies) https://liveforlivemusic.com/news/steve-gorman-black-crowes-book-2019/
  6. Nice post! And agreed on the up and comers. Many of which have already put some respectable time in already. Long live Canjam!
  7. No photos allowed! I'm personally fine with this policy. Just be there folks. Although I do appreciate looking back on others sweet photos. I'd say for the most part though if you are in the audience, I don't really want to have the show obstructed by your phone screen. What do the rest of you guys think? I'm usually so into a show that I wouldn't remember to take photos even if I wanted to. Any rate...Bob expressed his discontent https://www.msn.com/en-ca/entertainment/celebrity/bob-dylan-is-not-a-fan-of-you-taking-his-photo-onstage/ar-BBW38kT?ocid=spartandhp
  8. There is a new documentary in the works involving all kinds of folks we know and love https://www.jambase.com/article/col-bruce-hampton-documentary
  9. Absolutely! My son is choked but we shall see how things pan out. It seems the stats suggest that a heart valve replacement is pretty routine but nothing to sneeze at in my books! I hope he gets healthy enough to get one more tour in esp ecially because anything I've read suggests that's where he wants to be.
  10. True true. There's so much good stuff to be had this summer.
  11. Latest article I've seen since his latest health challenges: https://www.heraldtribune.com/news/20190324/dickey-betts-on-allman-brothers-50th-anniversary-and-new-allman-betts-band
  12. Caught JRAD at Cleveland's Masonic Temple this past weekend. Lucky enough to be second from the rail and right in their glorious pocket. Russo just blows my mind every time and it was such a pleasure to watch him do his other-worldly thing from up close. An incredible setlist and an interesting venue. Couldn't help but wonder what kind of shit went down there in the past. Many launch-pad moments into the ether. These guys don't let up. Can't wait to see them again this summer at Peach! Set 1: St. Stephen Playing in the Band Crazy Fingers Cosmic Charlie Scarlet Begonias I Know you Rider Set 2: Shakedown Street I Need a Miracle Cryptical Envelopment Eyes of the World The Other One Cryptical Envelopment Dancin' in the Streets Encore: Look Out Cleveland (The Band) One More Saturday Night
  13. I appreciate they are doing this but this won't get me to battle the crowds. Cool though!
  14. Edit to add his revised comment was "mom, I don't know, I just really love this song. Just the feel. But, Lesh wasn't the sharpest singer though was he mom?" Ha. On point
  15. Mega mad love for Father Lesh and I do not take for granted the anticipation of seeing him play again this summer at this stage in his life. My 11 year old was telling me today just how much he loves Box of Rain. I explained the origins of the song to him. I'm always taken aback by what sticks with him. Ha. The things that bring us pride...
  16. God dang....why oh why does this have to conflict with Peach Fest? Been a while since they've come to Toronto!
  17. Well tickets for GA grass (majority of the venue) were changing in real time. Almost bought at $119 a tic but then when checking out they had magically changed to $179 + a ticket. I let those go on principle. Now the lowest GA ticket appears to be sitting at $199. I'm going to take my chances and wait. Parking is almost another $40.
  18. I have to be perfectly honest in saying that I'm not entirely up to speed on what he's been up to most recently in terms of feeling any real level of familiarity with it
