  3. With the amount of seeds on the torrents, each show only takes 5-10 mins and you can grab them all at once...free kicks ass, especially when its lossless.
  4. Heres where all the videos orginate from, great film, and even better cause. Worth checking out. http://www.playingforchange.com/ Interview with director Mark Johnson, about the film those videos are from. http://www.pbs.org/moyers/journal/blog/2008/10/guest_blogger_mark_johnson_of.html

  6. Um, not just multi-media, anything "linked to his likeness" (quoted from cease & desist order). This included pictures of fan made art (eg: drawings, paintings), the fans' own photographs of him, pictures of tattoos people got and even pictures of custom license plates. I'm sorry but an argument of him "losing control" would be complete BS. Why go after the folks giving him massive free promotion and not the scammers making actual profit off his name? Only reason I can figure is because he wanted to make even more money off his "true fans" by shutting down fan forums and making the "true fans" pay to join a website. Basically, its seems Prince is the musical equivalent of sciencetology, the more you pay the truer fan you are.
  7. I also hope as others have said Kev that your job remains intact for you. Definitely not a good time to be out of work. Agreed. A few members of my family (cousins etc) are outta work now with the whole Stelco deal. Indirectly, it hurts numerous other trade/businesses/jobs as well.
  8. I'm sorry but any artist who sues his own fans for using photos on their fan site really get no respect/money or support from me, regardless of his talents (which I'm not questioning). But hey, thats just me.
  9. Thats fine, I wasn't giving Dinghy shit for anything actually. Quite the opposite, I guess too subtly. But, to be fair, there is maybe 2-3 Phish threads that remained active on the first page over the last few days. [edit to add] I always forget some folks require purple fonts.
  10. I don't get what your saying Dinghy, Slip fans are the only Phish fans? I'd hate to see info on Phish being restricted to only a select group of people like Slip info, shows etc.
  11. If it was a sub forum, wouldn't only people with access to the slip forum be able to see it? Just wondering is all.

  13. The Gourds 11/??/94 The Electric Lounge Austin, Texas 01 When Wine Was Cheap 02 Trampled by the Sun 03 Black Shiny Head 04 Money Honey 05 In the Pines 06 Magnolia Currently the earliest known live recording of the Gourds, this is a solidly played set that was broadcast on one of the public access channels in Austin, Texas. It's a stark sound when compared to later day sounds of the Gourds, the 4 piece band consisting of Kevin Russell, Jimmy Smith, Claude Bernard & Charlie Llewellin. The accordion has a reed-ier sound than today's Gourds fan might expect as Claude was playing an earlier squeezebox than he currently features. http://www.phishhook.com/view/details.php?recID=6641941

  15. Got my fingers crossed. I need something worthwhile to justify keeping my ebay account active.
  16. Personally I've been enjoying the AUDs a lot more then those SBDs. I haven't ran any tests as I don't have the programs to do so anymore, but I've read (although unconfirmed) that they were mp3 > FLAC. Unfortunately, the uploader didn't provide any lineage. I know it probally doesn't matter much to a lot of folks since they still somewhat sound good (the two I grabbed anyway sound ok, although massively compressed), but I'm still a stickler for lineage when it comes to recordings I plan to keep on disc or trade.

  18. I've downloaded all the available live recordings I could find (posted above) and have watched the youtube videos and I must say Derek's playing is amazing in my opinion, the stuff with Clapton is great. I'd freakin' love to see Dickey make an appearence. If I were a gamblin' man, I'd bet final show, epic second set jams. Man, aside from actually being there, I can't think of anything better after whats gone down so far.
  19. Lefty the Salesman I couldn't find a pic of him selling the letter 'E'
