A classic night of DBT that will never be repeated. On January 1, 2006 the city of Richmond,VA was devastated by the murder of the Harvey Family. It was particularly staggering for the DBT community of Richmond to lose such dear friends. As I’m sure you’re all aware, “Two Daughters and a Beautiful Wife†was inspired by the events. Fast forward to July. The band is opening for the Black Crowes and are itching to play a real rock show. A benefit is planned for the Harvey Family which also coincides with the 25th anniversary of Plan 9 Records. So on July 13, something beyond your wildest imagination takes place. DBT plays a full rock show in a record store. On that night, Mark Lynn put together yet another incarnation of Team Richmond, and documented the event on video with 3 cameras. Here is that once in a lifetime magical night. Thanks to the generosity of many, this historic documentation is being made available. The Harvey Family Memorial Endowment is active. We are asking that anyone who downloads this to consider making a donation "At the request of family and friends, The Community Foundation Serving Richmond and Central Virginia has created the Bryan and Kathryn Harvey Family Memorial Endowment. The Fund is established in memory of Bryan, Kathryn, Stella and Ruby Harvey and will be advised by a committee of their family and friends. Bryan and Kathryn shared a love of music and art, and they were known to their family and friends as kind and generous people. Thus, it is appropriate that the purpose of the Bryan and Kathryn Harvey Family Memorial Endowment is to provide music, visual art and performing arts enrichment in the Richmond area, which may include but is not limited to educational scholarships." Donations may be made here: http://www.tcfrichmond.org/page27484.cfm When you get to this page, you will see a drop down box at the top. Select the Harvey Family Endowment. 10. Good one, watched it this morning on comedy network's video player.
  11. Too long didn't read, huh - can't say I thought my few short paragraphs were that long, but oh well. I won't make this any longer then, but here's a short version reply. We're actually behind the US when it comes to this, so keep thinking that. and I read the final bracketed comment you posted
  12. I never understand those statements, especially considering the number of states that have already decriminalized herb, some more then 20 years ago at that. Legalization, well - I would agree 100% with you, but decriminalization I can't. Since decriminalization doesn't mean you wouldn't get arrested for simple possesion for one - only that you wouldn't have a life time criminal record over it - so any Americans that were arrested, would be fined and subject to possible deprotation (basically, told to leave immediately), and possibly not be allowed back. Similar to how many Euro-countries deal with visitors and drugs. Outsiders are usually dealt with differently, and in some cases more severly as not too many countries (Netherlands for example) really take kindly to visitors absuing their way of dealing with it. I know from my expirences in europe in 1997, France had a zero tolerance for visitors being caught with herb, Luxenburg and Belgium as well both adhered to pretty much the same mindset as France - Netherlands was a bit different, I was there for the 10th annual Canabis Cup but one point that was stressed over and over again by organizers, politicians and even the police was outsiders who took advantage of the laid back laws were subject to the full extend of their laws and in reality, marijuana is not legal - only tolerated in the specified establishments. Like I said above, I feel it is easily feasible for Canada to adopt similiar policies. Obviously, policies that suit our people & borders accordingly. By not even trying due to the fear of Americans swarming us, or US Gov't pressure, we are just being bullied. For me, thats much worse then some dumbasses coming here because they think its legal or more laxed. Thats my long post of the weekend.
  13. Class act, in my opinion. They really know how to put on show and make sure your more then satisfied by the end. Glad to hear they kicked ass, although, I'm not surprised  [edit to add] Great song to finish it off with too, especially like that.
  14. Sad news - Read about this back in the middle of march after he passed away. Sorta a strange picture, it was taken beofre the photographer knew who he was, but if you click it you'll be able to read comments from people. http://bighugelabs.com/flickr/onblack.php?id=2491955390&size=large
  15. You'll have to be quick when its get up on youtube, NBC doesn't take kindly to videos from their TV shows being posted there and they usually are removed. Then again, it took them over a year to find my DBT on Conan video that I had hidden on my google video account, I think when I made my google page public it enabled them to find it, was a good run though. I'd love to see them play 'Warped sister' but I doubt Neil will make the appearence. Thats my favourite track on the new album.

    What fest...

Thats what I was going to suggest, and its got a nice line-up with CSN just added. So, it'll be a good time.
  17. This is all I ever hope for, to be honest, when I picture decriminalization in Canada (ideally, it would be no charges for posssesion of personal amounts, but hey you gotta start somewhere) - it's realistic, more then fair to both sides (pro and anti) and easily feasible within our borders. At least in my opinion. Cheers to Portugal for some forward thinking and attitudes.

  20. Well, they were working together before (via a contractual agreement) and only went their seperate ways in jan of 2009. They announced this "severing of ties" back in 2007 but needed to see their contract out. A month later (feb.2009) they decided it was better to merge as one giant scalping corp.
  21. Anti-scalping and Bon Jovi all in the same article. Thats actually quite funny. Now they just gotta get Neil Diamond, Celine Dion and Van Halen to sign up.
  22. I enjoyed Crowmatix as Danko's backing band (Times Like These) more then their appearence on Garth's CD. But then again, I prefered Rick's solo work as well. Great band regardless. Maybe I'm missing the obvious here, but where is the Garth listing? Is he touring with Crowmatix or something? I can't see any word of it on ether of their sites. Just looking for some confirmation as this may tip the scale whether I go or not.
  23. Christopher Walken as Phil would be great for one of the "bad trip" squences that Jerry has during the film.
