    Good Job IKEA

In Hamilton, the liqour stores stopped using plastic quite awhile ago (at least the two I visit). And I know some grocery stores started using the re-usuable bag deal about a year ago, I believe Food basics is one, although I think it's sorta like Brad mentioned about Loblaws. We've been using the re-usable bags for a couple years now. Good on Ikea for that, now they just have to start making products with a bit of staying power (eg: not falling apart as Skelter mentioned)

    Bluesfest...

To each their own, blues is an aquired taste. Anyway, since I was called out on my facts/memory, I sent an email to a friend in the Toronto Blues society, who sent my question to the publicist of the Ottawa Blues Society, who emailed me and they are going try to get me the complete list of performers, or direct me to someone from Cisco who can. Not anymore. I wasn't complaining, or remarking about the name of the festival, nor the line-up - I only mentioned (in my original post) I would make my way there again if it was a blues festival like the one I attended in 1997. The rest was in response to Velvet stating its never been a blues festival. Seems simple enough to me.

    Bluesfest...

Actually, the plus more was mostly local and other Canadian blues artists, either not signed or not "big name" acts (eg: bar type bands), none of which played the main stage (only stage) and were showcased in various clubs around town, I'll see if I can dig out the program I have packed away and get em listed for you. The above list was just off the back of the tee-shirt I have. Personally, I feel if 95% of the acts (or 100% of the main stage acts) are blues it's a blues festival. Then again, I'm not that nit-picky about that shit, 95% is more then good for me. It was also the 'Ottawa Citizen Bluefest' back then. I also recall seeing a large number of Ottawa Blues Society ads around.

  9. So it has the same effects as any other social type websites I guess. Funny how these things have not only made people stupid as you say, but given people an easy excuse for finger pointing when it comes to a persons lack of personal responsibilty and/or self control. I wonder how much money and resources were spent wasted on a study telling the world the same old things they have been saying for years about things like television, video games etc. Personally, I find facebook makes people crazy.
  10. Thats right, I'm hardcore and anyone who doesn't like love Bob Dylan has obviously never listened to his music.
  11. Thanks for the link phishtaper. I was having a discussion about this the other day and my friend couldn't remember the article, pretty sure this was the one he was speaking of.
  12. Since this thread has seemed to turn into a Stern discussion, here's my measely two cents. I've listened to Stern, occasionally before Q107 aired his show to hear what all the hype was about and semi regular while they aired it (only because I listened to Q107 all the time back then), but not so much afterwards as I've never found his show, humor and the such all that entertaining, although like anything there were exceptions. But that's just me, everyone has a different sense of humor. Do I think he's a douche? Yeah, sometimes I do think he is. But who cares what I think of him? I mean if I took offence everytime someone trashed Bob Dylan, or insulted people who do enjoy him, I'd probally be offended and angry everyday. Fact is, I love his music and nothing anyone will ever say about him (or me for that matter) will change that. To give an example. I dunno, I guess I don't take it seriously enough to be bothered. Everyone has an opinion, I can accept that. I feel no desire to convert or convince people otherwise.

  16. Its crazy how some prodcuts are packaged and/or mailed. My brother ordered 4 xbox 360 games from a store in London, UK (he lives in Scotland) and they came in a 16" square box, filled with the packing popcorn (or whatever its called) and each game was in individually sealed plastic bags (like the ones pictured above) and also wrapped in the usual plastic they all come in.
