  1. Shannon Lyon - Tales Of A Yellow Heart One of the finest albums I've ever heard.
  2. Well, the clouds didnt look like cotton They didnt even look like clouds I was underneath the weather My friends looked a crowd The swimmin hole was full of rum I tried to find out why All I learned was this my friend You got to swim before you fly I got two girls Ones in heaven and ones below Oh, one I love with all my heart And one I do not know. Two lonesome dudes on an ugly horse Passed by not long ago They asked me where the action was I said I did not know As they disappeared into the brush I heard the driver say Hes a little slow between the ears Hes always been that way. I got two girls Ones in heaven and ones below Oh, one I love with all my heart And one I do not know. Jolly jane just lays around And listens with her mouth Shes had about a dozen husbands But the last one pulled out Now, whos gonna bring her dinner Through the weary years ahead All she'll get from me is sympathy Got no time to see shes fed. I got two girls Ones in heaven and ones below Oh, one I love with all my heart And one I do not know. Its cold down on the bayou They say its in your mind But the moccasins are treadin ice And leavin strange designs Cajuns say the last time That this happend they werent here All beaumonts full of penguins And Im a-playin it by ear. I got two girls Ones in heaven and ones below Oh, one I love with all my heart And one I do not know. Two Girls - Townes Van Zandt
  3. I can agree that The Band is/was underappreciated by the industry in general, but from a fanbase point of view, I humbly disagree.
  4. Personally, I don't care if its his story or not (I'm am hoping its his), thats some funny shit. Props. Thanks.
  5. I guess it depends on your childhood. Growing up I heard about the Band probally more then any other music group (thats how I discovered Dylan), all my friends either listened to them or knew who they were. Same went for my parents and their friends - although they used to see them play in Port Dover at the dances Ronnie Hawkins hosted in the 50's. For me and most of my close friends, we heard it as children, The Band was played in my home since the day I was born. I can't think of a single person I know who hasn't heard of them. I can however, introduce you to people who have never heard the Grateful Dead, or realize Jerry garcia is dead.

  7. "You know, there's a little place called Mary Ann's Hammocks (in the hammock district). The nice thing about that place is Mary Ann gets in the hammock with you."
  8. Ok, whew! I guess I do a need a beer. Thanks.
  9. Scott's my friend and I hope I'm just confused right now from a low alcohol/blood count and perhaps just reading it all wrong. I mean no offence by posting this... here

  11. Yeah, The Band is a strange one. But, it always seems when this topic comes up, so does The Band. It seems alot of people know and like the Band's music, but at the same time, think nobody does. At least thats my take on it.
  12. Hey Scott, we we're talking about our yearly canoe journey last week and I believe (but would have to check) part of the route involved the Irondale River, start around Gooderham and finish in or around Kinmount (I think we'll continue on from there). Are you anywhere near Furnace Falls? I know my buddy mentioned that place. Perhaps we'll paddle right by ya.
  13. People say I'm no-good, And crazy as a loon. I get stoned in the morning, I get drunk in the afternoon. Kinda like my old blue tick hound, I like to lay around in the shade, An', I ain't got no money, But I damn sure got it made. 'Cos I ain't askin' nobody for nothin', If I can't get it on my own. If you don't like the way I'm livin', You just leave this long-haired country boy alone.

    Worst Venues?

I agree Rock and Roll heaven was not very good (I saw Days Of You and Kingfish there) and the Comfort Zone always made me cringe, especially after the night we saw a girl sit on a couch and get stuck by a used syringe
  15. Nice, I was just listening to his last show at Massey Hall this morning. [color:red][edit to add] The show is also listed on the Arlo's myspace. Along with: Peterborough and Ottawa http://www.myspace.com/arloguthriefamily

    Worst Venues?

Off the top of my head... Rogers Centre Opera House Kool Haus Copps (but I do like it better then Rogers) The MOD club gets a demerit point from me because of the terrible access to the washroom (and that fuckin maze once you get down the stairs), especially once the show starts. But it's not a "worst" by any means.

Are you connected through a router? If so, which make. And which firewall/antivirus program are you using?
  19. Me too Jaimoe, while in Paris in '97 I checked out one of his museums/galleries there, the hostel I stayed was named after him, apparently he painted there. As well, while in Amsterdam, I bought a print of "Skeleton with Burning Cigarette", the Guitarist print was a bit above my price range though.
