  1. Don't pull a 'meat-puppet'!! Happy birthday!
  2. Interesting show last night! ... I realized at about 10:58 that Ed wasnt there, and I had to go it alone. With only half a show worth of music, I freaked out for a few seconds, but with a bit of help from the previous DJ, and my mad verbal improv skills, I did it alone.. trial by fire! Fun stuff and not too hard, it turned out. Ed called about midnight and said he had fallen asleep after school and missed it! Turned out to be a great way to learn everything. To give you an idea of the stuff I played: Steely Dan, Hylozoists, Sloan, Kings of Leon, Revolting Cocks, Peter Bjorn and John, some weird bluegrass, Rheostatics.. and some other stuff. Anyway, yaa its fun! And yes William, 'elbeejay!' continues to rock out weekly in a Gilmour Street basement.. I think we'll be gigging around later in the fall. thanks for asking! ps- Andre- there is no air supply in the Carleton archives!!
  3. yes booche, i think we can do that. any requests/ questions should be sent to: b-salsa@hotmail.com werd up
  4. Hello Children of the Board! Hope you've all had a nice summer! So, Ed Staples (of Gruvlix fame) and I (lixgrooves fame) have begun co-hosting a radio show on CKCU (93.1 on your FM dial)- Tuesday nights at 11pm. (TA-NIGHT MA-FA!). It's basically a cornicopius mix of all things smooth and sweet, hard and soft, bitter and shameful. In essence, we're spinning all our favourite music into a bit of a musical man-stew; so we've titled our program: BewCocky Salsa Cum join us!! XOXOXO
  5. if he is big like me, I could part with some stuff.. me and stapes met a guy on Elgin last night in the same boat- bummer.
  6. Some predictions for this show.. after soundcheck, Dave will... a)- eat a pasta related dish at pepper jacks, while reading the latest copy of 'View'.. - walk up to that sketchy Tim Horton's for coffee c)- return to Pepper Jack's, via the Bingo Hall it will be so.

  8. Ive heard that from a lot of people I know..Its certainly a dive, but they just put some kind of special greasy love into their broth that I havent found better.. 'special greasy love' is the band me and bradm are starting.
  9. try using your imagination... start by picturing bradm's 'left lean'..
  10. Wonton House on Wellington is great for American style chinese food, also Cathay which is located on Albert at Bank. Real deal Asian- I most enjoy Vietnamese- Pho Bo Ga, Golden Turtle, but also So Good (yes on the Wu Se- veg. or chicken), Shanghai and Northern Han (x-Northern 2).. mmm Manx is good for any meal. yumm. and best and freshest tasting draught selection in town. Italian- I think Capone's is good too, but I prefer IlPiccolino, Pub Italia on Preston.. Giovanni's is apparently great too. eat well.

  15. Samara beach in Costa Rica is an awesome place to get beginner waves as well as intermediate waves in the same bay. Tons of wicked hikes and other activities nearby. As well as some awesome sunsets and partying. Also home of my favourite hostel we stayed at in Costa Rica, with a Canadian owner, who is also friends with the surf school- for renting boards n stuff.. nicaragua is also awesome, and a little cheaper.
  16. She should've stopped in at the Men's Bath House in Hintonburgh... Then she could have eluded to Ottawa's sexxpool, cesspool. Which would've at least been fun to read.
  17. I wonder if her gourmet meal was a steamed hotdog at the Mission on Murray/Dalhousie.. thats the only area you typically see people one might assume are 'crackheads'- or the disadvantaged or homeless that might appear to be- lining the street..? Pretty weak appraisal, especially considering the difference since they built up Daly plaza, and took out the glass encasement on Rideau.. THAT was sketchy.
