  1. Let's hope people adhere to the DO NOT SMOKE signs at hydrogen fill-up stations,
  2. And even some buses (along with subways and streetcars) are electric powered.
  3. Yes, the French Quarter. If you like rowdy college kids staggering around drunk all night long, then New Orleans is the place for you.
  4. It's really too late. More cars is bad for the environment even if they are hybrids. Factories use all kinds of natural resources such as oil to make all cars, plus the amount of chemicals said auto-plants omit into the environment is massive. You bet I have a car, but I don't think I will for very much longer.
  5. DO NOT wander of the main tourist areas in New Orleans. It's even more dangreous now then it was before hurricane. I'd love to go to Austin.
  6. Car companies could mass produce hybrid cars and make them affordable, but they don't want to because there's not an oil shortage yet. And there's tons of politics involved; see the electric car. Even when auto makers come out with a "green" prototype, it's really a ruse isn't it? These cars never roll off the assembly line and onto a dealer's lot.
  7. Ever been to Memphis? Beale Street is highly overrated (although it's the only street worth checking out), but the Civil Rights Museum is amazing, if a little bit too big. Sun Studio offers a really good tour. However, the city of Memphis, no matter what way you slice it, is a dump.
  8. A good affordable hotel that's located in the Music Row area is http://www.bwmusiccityinn.com/ I stayed there a few years ago. It's only a short walk (10 min.) from the Broadway strip - BTW, Nashville empties out somewhat at night (non-weekends). It's a small city and no one seems to live in the downtown core. You must go to the Bluebird Cafe http://www.bluebirdcafe.com/about/ It's located a little bit out of town in a stripmall, but it's an amazing place. Don't talk while the performances are happening or they'll throw you out. I'm not kidding.
  9. Screw youtube's shitty quality clips. These are better from an earlier post I made: I'm Amazed - http://www.idobi.com/media.wml?vid=449 Evil Urges - http://www.idobi.com/media.wml?vid=450
  10. If you can do it, solar is the way to go. You will pay a lot up-front for intallation, but eventually you'll be even able to generate enough that yoy can actually sell some of your extra power back to whatever municipality's region you live in.
  11. Make sure you set the audio levels on the DVD "Set-up" feature to stereo and not 5.1 or DTS since I'm assuming you won't have a centre speaker. If you are using only two speakers and if the audio is 5.1, you may have find the dialogue a bit tinny or far back in the mix.
  12. We'll see if they can beat the Bulls in the real championship... and I hope they do since I'm a lowly Frontenacs fan.
  13. You are partially right, but the Marlies are made up of a number of future NHL role players like Robbie Earle, Ben Ondrus, Steffan "I wish I was my brother" Kronwal and Kris Newbury. However, they really only have a couple of top prospects in that gay internet kid and that goalie that they have no trust in playing.
  14. Horrid venue, but I think it'll be about the right size for them.
  15. The Okonokos DVD cranked up loud, preferably on "Off The Record", "Dondonte" and in particular "Lay Low" should do the trick. There's also Bonnaroo performances floating around. Also, their first appearance on Conan when they did "One Big Holiday" remains one of the best one-off talk show performances I've ever seen, including all the greats from the past.
  16. I agree that Fred Armisen was doing a mix of Lynde and Charles Nelson - he sounded and looked like just like Lynde, but he wore that neck scarf that nodded to Charles Nelson. No matter, the show sucked except for the Jacket. Oh yeah KK, don't judge MMJ on that fairly good performance. Their concerts are mind-blowinglg great.
  17. I kept an eye on the Match Game skit, but weren't they lampooning the other Match Game/closeted gay TV icon Paul Lynde?
  18. Here's video downloads from last night's MMJ performance: I'm Amazed - http://www.idobi.com/media.wml?vid=449 Evil Urges - http://www.idobi.com/media.wml?vid=450
  19. The show was horrid; a total piece of humourless garbage. MMJ put on a good show however. They were a little sloppy during the solos on "I'm Amazed", but Jim and Carl made up for it with some raw sustained notes and crunchy licks. "Evil Urges" was really good all-round.
  20. I've always liked Wilkerson since his Montreal days. He's as good a centre-fielder as Wells, fielding-wise. I thought the two pickups were pretty good since it didn't cost them anything.
  21. I meant to say "old enough to be my older half-sister".
  22. Happy Mother's Day to headymammamyrna, the only woman old enough to be my mother on Jambands (although she doesn't look it). I hope to see you soon. I'm dropping down to K-town to see my mom on Tuesday, so I'll try to drop on by.
  23. I'm here at work talking to Booche long-distance.
  24. I did learn one thing tonight. Evil Urges isnt the song I thought it was. That was the first time I have ever heard it. Great tune. That Zepplin-esque bridge? Awesome. This band can totally stop on a dime. It's normally a 9 minute-plus tune, so maybe you've heard other parts of it that weren't in this "single" version?
