  1. I pray to god that they don't move Mike Hogan into his time slot. He's bad enough as a lead-in to Chuck's show.
  2. I'd wager his wife had a big say in all of this. Living in Brampton ain't no Chicago, or Toronto for that matter. I like Chuck as a basketball play-by-play man. If you had problems with their broadcasts, just wait to you get a load of a tandem of Raptors radio play-by-play voice Eric Smith (a likely candidate) and Leo Rautins. They ain't no Chuck and Jack.
  3. There's no talk of this on The Fan right now. I know the news is still fresh, but he's under contract and a new Canadian citizen, whatever all this means.
  4. Calderone is that solid starting PG, but the Raps management got lucky since they didn't think he was going to be starter material when they signed him.
  5. I think Luther plays with soul, but Ford's a more powerful lead soloist.
  6. Marc Ford's a better lead player than Luther (not including slide). Ford has perfect taste as a soloist with fiery and beautiful tone. He complimented Rich.
  7. I think we all agree that Ford's playing in the Crowes was incredible and he can never really be replaced. I wasn't a fan of Audley Freed, but I do love that Young Rich started playing lead after Ford left, and he's a natural.
  8. One of the best "throwback" hard rock bands playing that small room will be incredible.
  9. I'm not a fan of White Chocolate:
  10. Screw that. This makes me happy as fucking hell.
  11. The Ben Stiller Show had some great commercial parodies and SCTV commercial skits could have comprised half of that American-centric list. Good list though. Check out SCTV's incredibly funny K-Tel's "all-star" tribute to Stairway to Heaven: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0O9_HEYcMr8
  12. If you don't get on the Friends account, I recommend phoning the Massey Hall/Roy Thompson Hall box-office and order tickets that way; they always offer the best seats.
  13. - My Morning Jacket in Toronto in June. - The Raconteurs with The Sadies and the Black Lips in June. - 4 day trip to NYC in August to catch a Yankees game and to visit Yankee Stadium for my first and last time (non-sports fans, they are closing Yankee Stadium forever after this season ends). -Hopefully visit Booche and Davey Boy in Ottawa at some point, maybe even on a Bluesfest weekend. - The Swell Season @ Massey Hall in September.
  14. Swell Season normally does a bunch of Frames tunes in concert, which isn't a big stretch since Glen Hansard writes all their material and sings all the songs.
  15. The duo also tour with memebers of Glen's other band, The Frames... and The Frames are fucking incredible.
  16. I gotta get me on that Friends list.
  17. I went to the game yesterday with Basher and Julia. Great seats. I gotta work tonight else I'd be all over this game.
  18. I'm not saying The Junkies are on-par commercially to The Black Crowes, but I expected a sell out for The Trinity Session anniversary show and it wasn't, even with Ryan Adams' name attached to the bill. Massey Hall isn't an easy venue to sell out.
  19. Not including Mary Tyler Moore is pathetic. God love Buffy.
  20. Is WKRP anywhere on the list? How about Farscape and Babylon 5? Scrubs is ranked higher than Blackadder? Fuck that! Scrubs is a decent comedy, but a Top 20 or even a Top 50 show? No way. King of the Hill makes my Top 20, although I doubt suburban Texas plays well in jolly old England.
  21. It is a regular show. It's on once a week on MuchMoreMusic at 3:00pm Wednesday.
  22. The upcoming encore of Explosions in the Sky is well worth checking out, although I don't like them paired with the self-aggrandizing Decemberists. I'd like to punch that lead singer in the face.
  23. I just find some of their music, i.e. the singles, really obnoxious.
