  1. You could always try to post your issue at a reputable pet store and/or cat hospital. Ask questions there; they may have options for you.
  2. Hope to see you soon. Have another great 39th, Jack Benny.
  3. I hope Victor Ortiz destroys this mutherfucker in Septembner.
  4. I'd love to adopt these two for a few years, but I already have two cats, one with FIV. Cats are really easy to look after and bring lots of happiness into a home. Those with allergies can even build up a tolerance after a little while ( I did). Best of luck in finding a home for them.
  5. Jeff Blair said today on The Fan that the controversy has more to do with the White Sox believing Bautista is a juicer.
  6. And that's what I objected to in the first place, that people commented on Jack's physical appearance.
  7. Thanks Ollie. I look at cancer as a battle, but folks have way more of a chance of beating it, or at least living fruitful lives, than they did even 5 years ago. I don't know what stage Jack's cancer is at, but he'll battle and I have only positive thoughts. My mom drives me crazy sometimes. She slipped that she had skin cancer into the end of our conversation the other day. She always does that: "By the way, Uncle Milton died" or "Did I tell you our neighbour Lou died of cancer" etc... Drives me to drink.
  8. Why did I focus on the physical toll? I already told you. I originally looked at it in a broader sense and this is a pretty big board of mostly strangers. I don't like that Jack's appearance became a national focus, hence I made a positive comment that he'd be swinging for the fences ASAP, and I sincerely believe it. I'm a bit surprised more than anything that he made a public announcement. Cancer doesn't look good, but Jacks's courageous, like everyone else that fights the disease.
  9. what a stunningly ignorant thing to say. I flesh out the abridged comment a bit more for you then: Every time Jack's name came up on the news or in newspapers, or when he was on TV during the time he announced that he had a new form of cancer to battle, people everywhere commented on his appearance, and how frail and sick he looked. It bugged me. The toll cancer takes and in fighting the disease through radiation and chemo generally doesn't look good, but folks, generally well-meaning ones, seem to forget this fact sometimes. I buried many relatives and family friends because of cancer, including two of my grandparents, one very close school friend (she was 23) and my good friend's father. My own father died 15 years ago, losing his battle to bowel, liver and eventually lung cancer (he wasn't a smoker or big drinker). He wasted away before my eyes, and he was the healthiest toughest motherfucker I've ever known or will ever know. I've volunteered for colorectal cancer fundraisers and my mother is a cancer coach (helps people with cancer, those in remission and widowers dealing with their grief) and I just found out two days ago she has skin cancer. Ignorant? Go fuck yourself.
  10. Nobody looks good when fighting cancer. Jack will be back and swinging for the fences ASAP!
  11. Thorin looks like a Klingon. Yep, still not getting laid.
  12. You pics aren't coming through, but they should be all Dwarves.
  13. Perry is an erratic brain-fried loon. Nothing he does surprises me. Great live band though. Navarro is a fucking a-hole, but man is he a fucking monster on guitar. "Mountain Song" would have been worth the price of admission alone (I've always thought its heavy main riff was influenced by Hendrix's "In From The Storm").
  14. Godin LGs are really nice guitars and ballsy as hell. They are made in Canada, so the workmanship should be of a higher quality. It's been over a year: the dude could have saved enough scratch by now to buy another one.
  15. Congrats! Did you stay in the east end? Thanks, and yes, but I moved further east to the Upper Beaches: Kingston Rd and Vic Park, on Hannaford.
  16. I was thinking about it, but my bank account is a little strained right now since I bought a house two days ago.
  17. Well, if you have a good perch, the show will kick your ass. They are one of the best live bands I've ever seen. Heck, they kill southern rock, especially that sham band still calling themselves Lynyrd Skynyrd, when they crank out some of their monster guitar epics such as "Lay Low" and "I'm Amazed". I hope the Bluesfest stage shows them off.
  18. Have you seen them before? This was my 5th show and it ranks #2; the best was at the Opera House during the It Still Moves tour (one of my fav concerts ever). Sometimes long sets can drift - MMJ played a lengthy gig the last time they played T.O. and trimming it down would have made the night more powerful; EU didn't gel with the older material, but the songs from that album sure did last night.
  19. Less can be just as good depending on song-selection. I'm sure they'll bring their A-game.
  20. Great show last night. The Kool Haus was smothering hot, but it didn't ruin things since the boys were in excellent form, although Jim's voice sounded pretty worn on some of the more challenging songs such as "Gideon" and "Anytime". The setlist had good pacing throughout the nearly 3-hour gig. I'm glad they dusted off some of the old tunes such as "The Dark" and "Phone Went West". I couldn't stop grinning during "Lay Low" and new songs "Circuital" and opener "Victory Dance" fucking rocked. Jim and Carl really pushed each other during the many guitar solos. Bluesfest folks won't be dissapointed. Here's the setlist (I was surprised that "Highly Suspicious" didn't bother me): http://mmjtweetpickles.com/post/7518717155/toronto-kool-haus-7-11-2011
  21. I was up front at that show; I thought Soundgarden were pretty good. Neil played with Booker T & the MGs and totally ripped it up.
  22. I'm glad they are back, if only to help out Ben Shepherd's empty bank account (he was broke) and to put to rest Audioslave and Cornell's solo career. I hope they put out a new album, but I hear this isn't part of their immediate plans.
