  1. I hope Versus hires Joe Bowen too.

Do you mean Duggan's #9? I'll have to keep my eyes peeled. Another new tallboy to look for is Mill Street Organic. Can Tankhouse be far behind?

    BEER!!

No' date=' I haven't tried it. The few Flying Monkey flavours I've tried were alright though for American style crafts. I did see it on tap at a bar in Burlington awhile back though, but it was a work deal so drinking wasn't an option. I'm pretty sure it's on tap at one or two bars here in Hamilton as well (Winking Judge comes to mind). It's too bad the LCBO can't/won't sell it right now. Apparently it has something to do with the packaging and/or name if I remember correctly, I think read it on the LCBO's website awhile back. [/quote'] Ya, the name is considered offensive to some, which has disrupted its distribution. Smash Bomb is my favourite Canadian-made IPA - it has elements of Hoptical Illusion, which Flying Monkey refers as a near-IPA, but it's hoppier and hits harder (but is really tasty). On tap is the ideal way to drink it, and the colder the better.

. GRB also took home a handful of awards at the 2011 Ontario brewing awards event in may. Two of their British India Pale Ales were among the people's choice winners - Curmudgeon IPA & Plowman’s Ale. Russian Gun Imperial Stout also won a peoples choice for stout. I'm really starting to enjoy these British style IPAs a lot more then the summery light style of the American IPAs. Have you tried Smash Bomb Atomic IPA? The Only on the Danforth has it on tap. It's fucking good: 7.2% of hoppy goodness. Curmudgeon IPA is great!

Right you are on the former. Black Oak is an American Pale Ale and not an American IPA such as Crazy Canuck and the awesome Smash Bomb Atomic from Flying Monkey. I've read some reviews that refer to Mill Street as an American IPA, but it's also listed as an American Pale. According to the folks I spoke with at Mill Street (an overselling job on their behalf), they said Tankhouse is American-styled Pale, and it does taste similar to the gallons of IPAs I drank during my California trip.

Black Oak Pale Ale is very good. It's not really an American IPA such as a Duggan's 9 or Tankhouse, but it has a unique taste.

I'm not sure the difference between Great Lakes Brewery's bottled Canuck IPA and this one (other than the name), but the latter is an excellent American-syled IPA (and would make a nice choice for Canada Day):
  8. Clarence is simply joyous on this killer live version (Part 1 & 2).
  9. I hear McFeces Meals are in the works, a bargain at only 200 yen.
  10. Man, this is awful news. What a tragic loss.
  11. Mongo Neely's speech is great.
  12. Thanks for the link, and from a prostrating Hab fan no less.

Yes, Yankees tickets vs the Red Sox. It is trustworthy, at least it was for me. Expensive though.
  14. It almost doesn't get any better than this. The Jays winning their first World Series tops the Bruins Cup win by just a whisker on Booche's on again, off again, beard.
  15. I loved seeing Bosh lose too though, although he wasn't the problem. He now has plenty of time to get caught up on his TV programs thanks to his "superior" cable package.
  16. You forgot that Jason Terry had God on his side.
  17. NBA quote of the year.
  18. That whole night of music would have been great to see.
  19. I found it strange to see the Heat basically fold up with 5 minutes left. My wife never watches basketball asked "Why are they quitting?" 5 minutes and a 10-point lead is nothing.
  20. Awesome game. Awesome series. Fuck you "Dynasty".
  21. He's pitched pretty well this season, but has had bad luck and poor run support. Nice to beat the best club in the AL (so far) and with a complete game. Now, if the Jays could only get Lind back in the lineup.
  22. There are several really cool sub-plots in the Hobbit that I would have liked expanded upon such as the Dwarves vs Orcs battle, Smaug and Elrond. Anyway, should be interesting to see if Jackson can pull this expanded re-imagining off (too bad that del Toro dropped out as director): THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY, to be released December 14, 2012, and THE HOBBIT: THERE AND BACK AGAIN, to be released December 13, 2013.
