  1. I don't think I have any more laughs in me to handle that.
  2. Here's some excellent footage culled from Youtube from this acoustic concert that was reviewed in Rolling Stone: White Light/White Heat
  3. Uncle Roger still looks like he can kick ass, although the Black Mamba's jaw is made of glass.
  4. It was a decent fight. Mayweather is a boring counter-punch boxer who doesn't like to exchange blows toe-to-toe, plus he has near flawless defense. Mayweather landed the cleaner punches and neither fighter got hurt or tired for that matter. The decision was correct. I gotta hand it to Oscar. He took it to Floyd, but he never really landed a clean combo.
  5. Parker is not a good clutch free thrower. He blew some free throws in key situations throughout the season. Ah well, I love the guy and what he brings to the team. I'm still proud that the Raps went out swinging.
  6. I think Dave-O is right about the offense, although they don't have the offensive talent of Ottawa of a few years ago.
  7. His solo stuff is pretty good. The work he did with other bands (not Television) is excellent. I can't wait for the show. He killed last year in Toronto.
  8. In case you missed it, Television guitarist Richard Lloyd will be playing at The Horseshoe next month. His solo work isn't well known, but who fucking cares. I like his lead solos better than Tom Verlaine's.
  9. weird. I heard the Jaimoe promo and downloaded an album and could not get into it at all. That was a couple months ago so I can't point out any specifics but I sure hear their name in the "next big thing" bin a lot. They were in the "Next Big Thing bin" back in 1976.
  10. Well, I'm wearing a Marquee Moon t-shirt today (no joke), but I think the RS list picked artists that have flirted or have been overlooked by the mainstream.
  11. a wookie can live on beer and chips for an entire weekend. I'll bet you a lot of vegans live on a similar diet.
  12. Many in the medical community believe that soy in large quantities is bad for you anyway, let alone feeding it to a baby.
  13. A baby can live on breast milk for one year alone.
  14. They were intent on keeping a baby on a nutrient-starved diet, so throw away the key I tell ya!
  15. The thing is though, you could back up most of RS's Top 25 underappreciated claims by doing very little research. Personal opinions are a harder sell. Fugazi are underappreciated as are The Replacements, Dino Jr. and the eternal cult hero Tom Waits.
  16. Cosby was a fan of Magnum too, hence the guilt. However, The Simpsons eventually ended Cosby's run. Yes, I am old Ollie. Nothing touched Hill Street Blues at that time.
  17. Cosby was for sitcoms, but before Cos, the program that defined Thursday night was Magnum - a show Cosby buried and believe it or not, felt so bad about killing it in the ratings that he wore Tigers and Magnum hats on a few episodes.
  18. This is potentially bad news for next year. Thank god Nielson started including personal recorders in the ratings. From today's Ain't It Cool: When NBC announces its autumn schedule in 12 days, it may show “The Office†– the network’s top-rated sitcom and the number-two sitcom on network television - has moved to 9 p.m. Thursdays, where it will likely face off against twin colossi “Grey’s Anatomy†and “CSI.†According to a story in this morning’s Variety, NBC execs will pay close attention to how “The Office†performs this week and next, when supersized episodes of the sitcom slop over into the 9 p.m. hour. We've also heard that “Scrubs,†which has been occupying half of the 9 p.m. hour most of this season, is on NBC’s chopping block. (Fans should not despair, however, as Disney – which produces “Scrubs†– is said to have long indicated that it would begin airing the show on its ABC network should NBC elect not to renew it.) "30 Rock," already renewed for next season, seems the most likely show to follow "The Office" at 9 :30 p.m.
  19. Well, if you ever wonder why once-popular establishments "go under", bad management is a big reason along with cost-cutting and/or cost-saving measures. "Under new management" will never die because some places just don't hire the right staff with the right sense of what's right and inevitably profitable and fair.
  20. The thing is with this Hamilton establishment, word of mouth about this injustice will end up costing the place customers. Cheap always rises above a facade.
  21. I think Cheap Trick's early studio albums are underappreciated. I wish I listened to The New York Dolls growing up. Fantastic band with no hits and a star that never shone brightly outside of NYC.
  22. I've never been a bar or restaurant in Toronto in my 16 years of living here that charged for a glass of water.
  23. I fall asleep regularily on my first few night shifts, normally around 4:00 am (I work 2 weeks days and then 2 weeks nights).
