  1. There are several sources for the 2003 STS9 show: http://www.archive.org/details/sts9-2003-06-13.shnf http://www.archive.org/details/sts9-2003-06-13_skm184.shnf http://www.archive.org/details/sts9-2003-06-13fixO0o.o0O.shnf http://www.archive.org/details/sts9-2003-06-13_Audiotecnica825.shnf Aloha, Brad
  2. They did play it in 2005, though: http://www.archive.org/details/sts9-2005-06-11.flac Aloha, Brad
  3. This man drinks Labatt's 50. Or Molson Export (thanks, Hux!). Aloha, Brad
  4. Dang, this does sound good, especially the guitars, which come through distinctly in the mix. (A lot of the credit for the quality of the recording has to go to the band first and foremost, followed by Jerod, the sound guy at Mavericks. An audience recording can't be any better than the sound in the venue, and the sound on Saturday was great.) Aloha, Brad
  5. Did anybody else catch the tease of "Iron Man" at the tail end of "One Way Out" (d1t06)? It's mostly in the bass, and starts at about the 6 minute mark. Aloha, Brad
  6. I'm about five songs in, and it sounds really good. There's good stereo separation (esp. the guitars), all the instruments are clearly hearable, and the vocals come through pretty well. And the derived files are now available. Aloha, Brad
  7. http://www.cbc.ca/canada/story/2006/10/15/liberal-leadership.html Aloha, Brad
  8. If only we had got a picture of Hux and bouche carrying the Rhodes across Rideau... Aloha, Brad
  9. Was Todd on the right (bass) side of the stage as you face it? If so, yeah, his vocals could have been a bit more prominent (not necessarily louder) in the mix. Aloha, Brad
  10. The Saturday, Oct. 14, 2006 show by the Fat Cats at Mavericks in Ottawa is now available for download: http://www.archive.org/details/FatCats2006-10-14.oktava.shnf Note: For some reason, the derived (MP3, OGG) files weren't created. I'm checking into it, and when they're available, I'll post an update. Enjoy! Aloha, Brad
  11. Nope (though the cover will be reduced for those in costume), but our band will be in costume. Aloha, Brad
  12. I processed last night's Fat Cats show, and then rehearsed with my band for three or four hours, in prep for our Hallowe'en show. (The rehearsal went well; we're really looking forward to the gig: Oct. 28 at the Bytown Tavern on Elgin.) Aloha, Brad
  13. It has nothing to do with the show or anything, but if this topic was in the Foodeeze Forum, it'd have a whole different meaning... Aloha, Brad
  14. (And has anybody noticed that it says on the back of the ticket that the nero reunion shows are at Mavericks?) Aloha, Brad
  15. 'Montana Haze' is the name of that one. [edit to add] Just noticed its earlier in the set, perhaps it was a reprise? The only lyrics I can think of with the line "Dancin' with the moon" is 'Montana Haze' My set-list note-taking must have been 'way off the mark at the end of the second set, because it's actually "Teaspoon." I have no idea how/why I thought there were "Montana Haze" lyrics in it. Aloha, Brad
  16. Thanks, 'bama. I jus started tracking the second set, so I'll see/hear what it is. Aloha, Brad
  17. dinner for the week

It's probably similar to most chili recipes, but I'm doing burrito mix tonight: chopped onion, chopped bell pepper, can of tomatoes, can of black beans (drained and rinsed), package of veggie ground round, spices, hot sauce, all skilleted up. I'll have it tonight, and save the rest (it makes about 6 or 7 servings, one serving = two 7" tortillas). Aloha, Brad
  20. According to http://www.cbc.ca/canada/toronto/story/2006/10/13/caledonia-rally.html Aloha, Brad
  21. Actually, I think he's back in Ottawa; I saw him at the King Sunshine / Lauzon show on Sept. 30. If he's still here, that'd make tonight's Fat Cats show his birthday extravaganza. Aloha, Brad

    Toronto Tonight

God Made Me Funky is at The Opera House. I saw them at Babylon, and they throw down a really good hard/fun funky night. http://www.jambase.com/search.asp?band=&venue=&city=toronto&stateID=60&adv=1&fromdate=&todate= Aloha, Brad
  24. This lack of caring about concerns concerns me. And I'll be buying my NYE ticket tomorrow night. Aloha, Brad
  25. Sure I could. You have no idea the heights of incorrectness that I can reach when I put my mind to it. Aloha, Brad
