  1. She's apologized. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/5402102.stm Aloha, Brad
  2. was he her Prof? I doubt it. Note that numerodos referred to him as a "gentleman". Aloha, Brad
  3. King Sunshine 2006-09-30 from Mavericks in Ottawa. Funky horns, great guitar, a "drums" segment in each of the two sets, and soulful vocals (from Maya) is just the way to clear out the greyness of this Ottawa fall morning...well, that, and serious amounts of coffee... Aloha, Brad
  4. Contact the Better Business Bureau of Ottawa. You might also head to http://www.gov.on.ca/MGS/en/ConsProt/STEL02_045951.html and read the bottom part, where it allows you to contact the Ministry of Government Services. I also assume it's an independent mechanic? If not, try contacting the parent company. Aloha, Brad
  5. I find that the times Brad's vocals sound a bit "off" adds to the sound; it's almost as if he's singing because he has to, to get the emotion and experince across, not because he's trying to create pleasant sounds for people to listen to. Aloha, A Brad Who Will Sing If Necessary, But Not Necessarily Sing
  6. Thanks, LJ. I checked out a couple of videos and what I heard/saw didn't really work for me. Aloha, Brad
  7. I know nothing about either artist. Is this a show I should make an effort to attend? If I go, what should I expect? Aloha, Brad
  8. I suspect all this talk is actually a secret code, and is really just descriptions of Booche's toe activities. Aloha, Brad
  9. I'm actually kind of glad he's a pop music star, because I sure as heck wouldn't want someone this stupid holding a position of authority/responsibility in society. Aloha, Brad
  10. Not quite. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gringo Aloha, Brad
  11. Thanksgiving at your house must be just twisted... Aloha, Brad
  12. Uh, there's a district in Amsterdam in which it should be pretty easy for you to find a "date", shain. The "heady" part might cost extra, though... Aloha, Brad
  13. The Saturday, September 30, 2006 show by David Lauzon at Mavericks in Ottawa is now available for download: http://www.archive.org/details/dlauzon2006-09-30.oktava.shnf Enjoy! Aloha, Brad
  14. Apparently JSB played this last night, too, at about 2am Atlantic time, which might mean both bands were playing it at the same time... Aloha, Brad
  15. I wonder if you could/should have put down similarly-sized commercial/industrial hemp plants (which have extremely low THC content), so that it looked like the plants were still there, but their "rewards" didn't add up to much. That way, they'd blame either the person who gave them the seeds/cuttings or themselves (for having grown bunk), rather than think someone stole what they planted. Aloha, Brad
  16. Ottawa guitarist Wayne Eagles is featured this month in Guitar Player magazine, which has a page listing about nine players' MySpace pages. On Wayne's MySpace page, he has a couple of cuts from the Milligan-Eagles Project CD, including "Plankton Comes Alive", which is blazing its own unique trail through my brain. Aloha, Brad
  17. In honour of today, I'll do my best to pass out at some point. In fact, everybody should try to pass out today! Take pledges, raise money for charity, have a PassOutAThon! Happy Day, PoG! Aloha, Brad

    Downloading help?

For BT, I use Azureus. For shn->wav, I use Shorten; I'd also recommend getting and using MD5Sum to verify downloads. (Note that both of those are command-line tools, so if he's not cool with typing commands in a command prompt, they might be tough to use for him.) Most programs that handle FLAC can be downloaded via this website. As well as the main FLAC tools, getting FLAC frontend is a good idea, as it makes using FLAC a lot easier. http://www.etree.org/software.html also has links to other programs which might be useful. As for download sites, http://bt.etree.org and http://www.archive.org/details/etree are the main ones I use. Aloha, Brad
  19. The Adventures of Accordion Guy in the 21st Century recently talked about Critical Massholes, explaining why he doesn't participate in "Critical Mass" anymore, and it garnered a strong response. Aloha, Brad
  20. I note that Lauzon claims to be starting his set tomorrow night at 9:30pm, which is just over 25 hours from now. Aloha, Brad
  21. Do you do the "This little piggy went to market, this little piggy stayed home..." thing? Aloha, Brad
  22. You mean you were taking us seriously before? "Well, there's yer prah-beh-lem..." Aloha, Brad
