  1. Interesting mix of artists, I'm not really big on tribute albums but may check it out. Jack Johnson is admittedly hefty cheese but he does have a good voice and I bet you he'll do the song right.
  2. Do you think orthodox jews could go to a concert where Captain Beefheart opened and Cream headlined....ON THE SAME STAGE?!
  3. Let me be clear. This thread is boring. Phish should stay dead, and be ground up into gefiltephish.
  4. I am just catching on to these guys. Not sure how I feel just yet but can say they are very very different than much of what I've heard before.
  5. The comedy writes itself: "He says: "She raped me... That might sound like some bulls**t... (but) is that the only thing in the world that's not possible? Because when I sleep, my man (penis) be out."
  6. 1. Kris Kristofferson and Rita Coolidge 2. "Never Surrender" by Corey Hart
  7. Seems like a perfectly normal reaction to intrusion, particularly when you're drunk and it's your birthday. You've all done far worse and none of you save MarcO is a celebrity.
  8. The sequence of things makes me think the faulty power supply shorted your mobo and you should look for a new computer now.
  9. I picked this up after their bluesfest set: I was speechless after that show.
  10. Yeah I would agree with that. I know he lent a track to a fundraising album of some sort and I am HUGE in love with the tracks on his myspace ( Link ) especially the one that sounds like Bruce Cockburn.
  11. Sorry what I mean is there is seemingly fewer instances of Brad solo guesting on another musician's work.
  12. The Slip are so damned golden I'm truly hapy for them. If it makes them a bit more inaccessible (unlikely) but gives them much-deserved exposure it'll be a good good thing. Interesting though that Marc and Andrew are guesting so frequently while Brad isn't. Maybe that's helping to keep the Slip iteration healthy.
  13. The Merchant thing seems due to sharing a producer with her: Matthew Ellard. I asked Andrew about the Dan Bern connection nad he just said they'd crossed paths at festivals years prior.
  14. In fact I think everyone should watch this 24-minute montage of his UK skits which not everyone has seen before:
  15. I think you mean CBC, or at least what I saw was: (Borat in front of the White house gates) SECURITY: Do you have an appointment? BORAT: Eh, not so much. I could actually care less what the Kazakhs think because his satire is so outstanding I can hardly control my excitement over this movie.
  16. And Marc and Andrew recorded a song with Natalie Merchant? These guys are on track for gold now!
  17. I've seen better but hopefully this is just a warmup. I think Chives can be beat if, in round one, he's already fallen back on douche bag and "gay" (and yes, I read your explanation, and no I truly think he means the gay vesion of gay)
  18. Did you call the cops or bust her chops?
  19. I just puked up a little in my mouth. But good luck on your musical voyage!
  20. Are you bashing comunications professionalism and journalistic creativity as presented in that release? I don't think I've ever read something more gripping as: Say it out loud..."propelling the proceedings". I'l bet you Mos Def starts dropping that fucking rhyme in his next album!
  21. Yeah had I know I'd have sent her to the Bike Dump but her and another colleague both bought flashy bikes. speaking of which the bike store next to Greek on Wheels (Cyclo's I think) is selling off their rental bikes for real cheap...like Bike Dump prices but really decent mountain and road bikes. Saw a bashed up Cannondale for $89!
  22. "Aww shit" So goofy but so good.
  23. Cutting the DFAIT internships doesn't come as a surprise since IYIP and other Youth Employment Strategy placements have been destined for CIDA for the last few years. It still hurts and doesn't make a lick of sense though.
  24. Oh I've had 3 stolen in my life, and I'm riding a banged up shitter right now and STILL someone stole my $4 bell! Anyway I've seen plastic protective pieces that fit over the brake sections and hide the screws, making it harder to steal them. I'll post a picture.
  25. My poor co-worker keeps getting things stolen from her bike. She had locked up the frame and front wheel but didn't know what a quick release was, and why it was on her rear wheel. Somebody nicked that along with the gears and rear derailleur. Fair enough, lesson learned and now of course no quick releaseon the rear or front. Doulbe u-locks on the front wheel/frame and back wheel. So last night someone stole the cantilevered brake off the front, but not the back. Odd eh? And this is all happening around 5:00 or 6:00 at Slater and O'Connor, a pretty busy area at that hour. ANy suggestions on instituting full lockdown on vulnerable parts like the steering column and brake components? Looks like most of it uses allan keys which are pretty easy so is it worth changing out all the fasteners or something?
