  1. I loved the show last night! Thanks again to Basher and Julia for the tickets (and fourth row at that!). I did find Lyle's guitar to be pretty loud, but I wasn't complaining because it sounded great!
  2. Happy Birthday! Be careful blowing out the candle on that thing!
  3. I've heard a couple of songs on CBC and I was thinking it sounded a bit like Paul Simon's Graceland.
  4. Basher and Julia bought Erin and I tix for the Toronto show as a wedding present. Thanks Guys!

I'm very sorry to hear about this. I hate when bad things happen to good people. I'm glad your dog is safe and I hope you heal quickly and feel safe in your own home. I can't imagine that feeling of violation.
  6. That religion really, like, ties the whole world together, man.
  7. That was a fun game to watch! I'm bummed The Pats lost, but it was a lot of fun! BTW- last years half time show was Prince and he tore the roof off the place!
  8. I love Superbowl Sunday! I am kickin' it in Florida and so far today, I've had golf lessons, taken a swim, had a great brunch and consumed 1/2 bottle of white wine. Life is sweet. Go Pats!
  9. Made it through a whole day of driving around Hamilton, Oakville Brampton and Mississauga. I saw a ton of people spin out. Usually it was SUV drivers who only have front wheel drive! I also only have front wheel drive, but at least I am concious of it and drive accordingly. Dumb ass dudes in leased Sante Fe's passing when they shouldn't caused the majority of spin outs I witnessed. Fortunately I never saw anyone who looked hurt- a few dents and dings, but nothing serious.
  10. I have to drive product to restaurants all around Hamilton today! I am so bummed and my wife is more then a little worried.
  11. Sorry to hear about all this. You folks deserve way better and I'm sure the karma police will be sending you good things to compensate! Bad things sometimes do happen to good people but the law of averages usually works things out!

    WINE!!

I actually like the screw caps, especially on whites, which you drink farily young. I'm not sure if they would be as good on a bottle that you are hoping to age for 10+ years. They say that screw top technology has improved to the point where they out perform corks but we'll have to wait for time to truly answer that question. I don't know if I'ld invest in an expensive wine that I intend to cellar if it was a screw top. In the short term it means fewer "corked" bottles. Damn- It's almost time to call it a day. Lost starts tonight. That calls for drink!

    WINE!!

Goats Do Roam make excellent value wine. They are readily available and very consistant year to year. They are a fun South African Wine company who copy French Rhone style wines (even their names are a tongue-in-cheek nod to their French counterparts). The '05 Goat Roti is great value for your money and one of my favourite mass-produced wines out there.

Anyone know of any tasty micro-brews that you can buy in Florida?

    WINE!!

My wife only drinks white so we tend to stock up when we find a good bottle. New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc is her fav and we are currently working through a case of Dog Point 2006 from the Marlborough region. It's super tasty- rated 91 points by...someone who knows whats up. They had a great review last year as well and the vintage did not last very long in the LCBO. It's priced around $22. I recently tried an awesome Aussie Shiraz called Mollydooker, which had a cartoon drawing of a boxer on the label. It was a bit of a fruit bomb, but damn tasty! It was somewhere around $20. I'm usually a California man and my favourites generally are from Napa. I'm excited to be heading to Florida on the weekend where I can sample some tasty labels that are way cheaper then up north! Costco, of all places, is where I shop for great bottles at amazing prices. I'll likely be schwilling on tasty wine, rather then bud light for the Superbowl!
  16. I haven't seen moe. in years! I was hoping to go tonight but I slacked on getting tickets. It was sold out weeks ago. Have a fun show and drive safe! As a side note, the last time I had tix to moe. was last year and the whole town got shut down due to a storm-in October!
  17. Jamie Oliver's first book was pretty good. Simple food prepared simply. I don't use it often, but there are a few fall-back recipes that I use all the time. My fav. is asparagus w/ spicey anchovey butter. It's pretty much the best side ever for bbq'ed anything!
  18. Thanks! This thread is both informative and funny! BTW- It was good seeing all you foodies last weekend!
  19. I'll drink to that! Thanks to Guigs and the crew!!!
  20. Hey Mikey- I'm not sure I have heard of "brined fries". Do they just brine them in a salt water solution, or do they add some spicey sweetness to the mix? Just wondering b/c I have a new client who is looking for ways to stand out from the crowd. I'm selling him fresh potatoes, but I'm not fond of his fries and would love to offer him suggestions to improve his product. He does make a bad-ass rotisserated chicken rubbed with Peruvian spices.
  21. Wow! What a fun weekend! Thanks so much to Nero for stepping up and delivering a great performance. It's funny, as much as I enjoy Nero's covers, I was thinking to myself that I would rather have heard another nero tune instead (although they were some choice covers). Gotta get our fix while we can. I haven't had that much fun at a show since last year! Thanks to the whole O-town crew for being amazing hosts! It was so good to see so many old friends. The whole nero thing is pretty special and I feel very lucky to have discovered so many great friends through the magic of music. Let's hope nero decides to do it again soon!
  22. The Pats have had an amazing year. I want to see them win because they have earned it. They "spygate" scandel was bullshit. Everyone is doing stuff do get an edge. Every team in the NFL has a lip reader with binoculars watching everything the opposing coaching staff is saying. Are the Pats the first team to use a camera man? I doubt it. New England has been so good this year, they deserve their place in history. Even when other teams have figured out how to stop them, they keep coming up with new weapons. That's what a truly great team does. The Giants have to be respected. They have a ton of momentum but I really can't place any faith in Eli. I'm predicting a monumental melt down in the big game. You have to know that Belichick still has a few surprises up his sleeve. This should be an awesome Superbowl. I'll be watching it in Florida with the In-laws!
  23. In!! I'm getting excited for the weekend and it's still Monday morning.
  24. The Pats game was fun to watch! New England has not looked invincible the past few weeks, but they always find a way to win. I'm pumped for the next game as well. I'm hoping for a Green Bay vs. New England Superbowl! Go Green! On a side note- I am really going to miss watching football on Sunday. It's always a great excuse to eat too much, drink too much and pretty much just hang out and not have to do shit!
