  1. My wife got me a Sony Reader for christmas... and I can't say enough good things about it. I usually travel with a stack of books, but this has room for 160 books in it and an SD slot, which basically means I have enough room for every book I'll ever buy. It's an older model, but man, is it cool. eBooks seem to be around ten bucks, and you can find books on the torrent sites too. So I picked up these, and flew through them. Really makes me feel like I'm living in the future... and this one...
  2. Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers Live Anthology
  3. in TO? need free music? bluebudzz at grossman's tonight, being saturday.... 3 sets, a bunch of guests, beer, mark jeff joel and jon.
  4. That happens on my home computer some times... and just did actually. But I'd never noticed it was only on this site until you mentioned it.
  5. RIP Jesse. I'll never forget his kindness and generosity to me over the years. I only knew him for about 10, but I couldn't think of a bad thing to say about him if I tried with all my hardest might. He was guy I could count on for always having a big smile, which would in turn give me a big smile. Thanks man.
  6. Presto Magix??? Thor?? This has officially blown me away. Wow. I always used to accidentally rub a piece of the graphic next to the one I was doing on, and have an extra arm or something floating in mid air. The dukes of hazzard one was my favourite!!! And I remember Shrinky Dinks as well.... or at least the name.
  7. They never took the pole down for our shows... it was always there! Strippers until 9, then we set up and played. But the bikers and strippers who resided upstairs from the bar always made for a fun after-show-shit-show.
  8. just in case you didn't read this from the other post (like I hadn't), here's the final lineup for the night.
  9. shit yeah!!! wizard news... and so nicely put mike.
  10. oh man... I'm just out on the West coast in the middle of a Trews acoustic tour, during which I've been exclusively 'rocking' the accordion the whole time. Can't wait to get back to TO and some actual keyboards and get this show rolling... seeming as I'm as out of the loop as everyone else... I hope the exciting news TBA is good!
  11. EVERYTHING ALL THE TIME Zaphod's Friday Dec 4th www.myspace.com/everythingallthetimeband ...from their site.... "EATT is a group of working musicians who all have their own solo projects, and have also been sidemen and women for an impressive number of other acts. Between them, their recording and touring credits read like a who's who of Canadian music, featuring names like Matt Mays, Josh Reichmann, Feist, Jason Collett, Sleepless Nights, Sarah Harmer and the Hidden Cameras. You couldn't, however, say that Everything All The Time sounds like any of the artists mentioned above. When these six individuals came together they brought with them an abundance of influences which, when combined, created something completely new. EATT clearly embraces electronic and dance music but the group's sound is founded on precise and scrupulous collaborative songwriting. EATT writes songs collectively and painstakingly, resulting in music that's as organic as it is electronic."
  12. I don't think either will do well without each other, the band or Steven. Oh well...
  13. I think that's just his thing. Although I was talking to him before the show, and he had just had a chiropractor working on his back prior to the gig... perhaps he had some back issues on stage. The show was great too - 'Cold Irons Bound' killed it! Charlie's a friend and was able to hook us up with guestlist, and we actually wound up with front row seats! First time I'd ever been front row at a show. Having not seen Dylan since 93, I really dug the whole night. Aside from his brutal guitar playing on 'Lay Lady Lay', I thought the band, Bob and Charlie did a great job. Bob looked like he was having a lot of fun too.
  14. I loved their 70's stuff... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-1225927/The-end-Aerosmith-Steven-Tyler-quits-band.html
  15. Figured I'd share this... Got the chance to meet and hang out with Al Kooper in Boston last week. Turns out he found the Trews on iTunes, and emailed the band about coming to the soundcheck and meeting us. He was a truly nice guy.... laid back and together, and had all kinds of stories about recording with Dylan, The Rolling Stones, Blood Sweat & Tears and Jimi Hendrix. He told us how he arranged the whole band for Blonde on Blonde, and got to sit in a hotel room with Dylan and play the songs over and over on piano for hours so Dylan could finish writing all the lyrics! Hung out after soundcheck and had dinner and then chatted for a few hours. If you haven't heard his Super Session album, you should. He's actually grabbing my throat pretty hard in this picture.
  16. from cp24... The band -- which now includes Axl Rose, Frank Ferrer, Tommy Stinson, Richard Fortus, Ron (Bumblefoot) Thal, Dizzy Reed, Chris Pitman and Dj Ashba -- is scheduled to begin rehearsals in Los Angeles shortly, according to a release from Live Nation. I'd be reeeeal surpised if they/Axl fills any of those rooms. Chinese Demorcracy couldn't have been any more of a flop (although I like it), and I think Axl has successfully convinced the world that he's a complete idiot. Maybe I'm just jealous because I won't be here to see any of those shows...
  17. I use www.ninjavideo.net for tv and movies.
