  1. Yup. Grew up on Tom Baker watching Dr Who on TVO... and went through all the new ones within the last year. Loved David Tennant and glad to see Matt Smith settling into the role nicely. In fact, the original Moogy scored Dr Who theme music was one of the things that got me interested in synthesizers...
  2. I've been working with this band for just over a year now, currently producing their debut release. Kick ass rock n roll from Thunder Bay. They play Nu Music night at the Horseshoe tonight at midnight. Free! http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=237104746311188
  3. Shit! Got a wedding on the 15th. Maybe Detroit...
  4. I actually told him one day... something like "bold move calling the album Repeat Offender with that bein the same as Richard Marx's big record." He had no idea...
  5. Damn, I hope so. Dry theatres, great or not, aren't great.
  6. Really... the theatre's good? We were kinda bummed we weren't outside. Cool!
  7. http://www.ottawabluesfest.ca/performance/876 Looking forward to it!
  8. part of nxne... we're on for a quick set at 9.
  9. Maybe some of you caught these guys at CTMF.... they're a band I just finished producing an EP for... great, great rock n roll. If you're out catching music in Toronto on Thursday, the Supermarket in Kensington has these guys on at 11:30. Definitely worth checking out...
  10. Sadly, I didn't do the tour. It came up real last minute, and cash and stage allowances prevented me being a part of it. But I heard great stories... strippers, renting out movie theatres, all night binges... and the guys made a friend out of 'Bob', so that could work out nice in the future. I AM playing a gig with Steve Miller Band ion a few weeks, so I'll be sure to report on those shananigans. ;-)
  11. Good run guys. Glad to have shared the music, the stage and the laughs with all you fellas over years many times. Looking forward to what's next.
  12. I'm quite looking forward to my first CTMF in about 5 years! Wish I was there tonight too to catch Poor Young Things.
  13. I've heard that about the Frampton record as well. Another classic live record that really isn't, is the Last Waltz. Levon claims the only thing not overdubbed and rerecorded was his drums and vocals and calls it the 'biggest lie in rock n roll'. Hard to believe until you listen to the actual show. http://www.wolfgangsvault.com/the-band/concerts/winterland-november-25-1976.html The Band also did the same thing with the Live at Watkins Glen record. Makes me wonder about Rock of Ages too.... come to think of it.... any other live Band stuff I've seen or heard has kinda sucked. Oh well... those 'live' records are still among my favourites regardless of authenticity.
  14. Had a great gig in St Catherine's last night... looking forward to a full set tonight!
  15. Yeah... really stoked about this one. Had such a good March playing with Elkas, it's gonna be great to bring it back to the Hammer!
  16. with guests Sweet Homewreckers.... http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=196357327068044

Hey Jeffrey... I did the same thing. Totally hooked on that stuff. Not sure if you came across it or not, but there's a great SoulJazz compilation of New Orleans funk... http://btjunkie.org/torrent/New-Orleans-Funk-The-Original-Sound-Of/3952ddb64f53b793012b93f045a7b0321392e4928b1a http://www.souljazzrecords.co.uk/releases/?id=181 Another record I came across was "Funky New Orleans" by Dr John... also killer.

YES!!!!!!! Thanks for the heads up.
  20. I played a gig in the Wasaga Beach Dome a few years ago... and it was THE WORST sounding stage ever. Horrible. I still have on stage nightmares. The sound bouncing around in the dome was ridiculous. SO not the place to see a concert.
  21. They had this on tap at Ebar in Guelph, where I drank it every Thursday and loved it for the last month. Loved it!
