CharlieDon'tSurf
lookin' for a little advice or any possible caveats i'm interested in giving kazaa a try (based on some friendly recommendations), mostly to give donnie darko a quick check out... anyone got any thoughts on the product and its drawbacks? thanks! chuckie
weezy
Download Kazaa lite! NOT Kazaa you can download it here It's the exact same as KaZaA, but without the ad-bot spyware shit. KaZaA is very easy to use - you can find just about everything - downloading movies can take a few hours or a few days depending on who you connect to, though... I think you should rent Donnie Darko and watch it on a real screen - it's one of those movies...
Booche
I found Kazaa to be a HUGE memory hog, and I deleted it, but I may try that Kazaa Lite. Personally, I am a HUGE fan of Furthur for downloading shows.
Freeker
Totally agree, Furthur is the best file-sharing program out there, of course if your looking for a flick, go with kazaa lite ....If you'd like to see all the P2P programs out there, check out www.zeropaid.com

SolarGarlic
Bit Torrent is the next best thing to come along. You like Furthur eh? Well, try Bit Torrent sometime!! It works the way Furthur should...the more people downloading a show, the faster your speeds. So lets say the latest phish, phil or too show comes out and like 100 people start downloading. Im willing to bet that you'll download the whole show in less than 2 hours. Fire it up! SInce its still *kinda* new, there aren't scads of shows to choose from, yet... CyberHippie
Newsgroups is totally where it's at! You can get any music, movies, shows, software. And it's so fast! You just have to have a good service provider. Rogers is not too bad.
paisley
Further is great Kazaa has bad, invasive, clunky, sneaky spyware attatched... as do the rest besides further that I've tried... will have look see feel at kazza lite thanks for the link (if you've ever had Kazaa installed, make sure you get it out of your registry settings... deleted or not it leaves shit on your system that reports back to the home base... there's software available specifically for getting the last dirty bits of Kazaa off your system)

paisley
ya gotta download the program, start it up, whatever shows are available right then show up, depending who's online right then... its peer to peer software... you get the shows off other people's computers, not off a server... so the non existent, in the way you're looking at it, list you're looking for changes by the minutes, by the hour, by the day, by the week... best peer to peer software in the world without question idiot proof very easy to use patience, my friend you're in for a treat... book a month or two off work... hope you have lots of hard drive space don't forget to share back
Chewie
thanks paisley. i was almost going out of my tree looking for a list... i'll just have to plug away at it...giver er the old college try...well maybe not my college try but somebody who worked hard in school's try! Greg Hemmings
Please dont laugh....Im a MAC user and all I have found is Limewire...does anyone know if kazaa works for mac? Or anyother good mac filesharing programs??
secondtube
I dont think i'm going out on a limb but, Direct Connect is a much more reliable, less memory resource draining, file sharing program. I was a furthur advocate for over two years, but after trying dc++, getting on a couple of good hubs, i'll never go back... Now of course, running both is twice the fun. weezy
Greg, I don't think there's a KaZaA for Mac, I guess you're stuck with Limewire. Furthur = awesome for live shows (amazing STS9 shows available there...) KaZaA lite = great for downloading other music in mp3 form (just about anything..) but not live shows - also movies, porn, photo's etc... If you have the old KaZaA and you're getting rid-of-it, you'll have to download Ad Aware 6.0 and run it to kill the spyware... If you have already downloaded KaZaA lite in its place, then make sure you do not erase the file called CLINT.DLL - it is part of KaZaA lite and WILL show-up as a spyware file through AdAware, but don't worry, it's not - it just replaces the real spyware shit that is a part of the regular KaZaA.
