Velvet
Rain Song Plastic Banana (an awesome newgrass thing) Bach anything by The Tummies Morning Glory (another newgrass thing by one of the guys in the Bill Hilly Band) Stormy Mondays and, as always, Little Wing It's kinda fun - I'm trying to learn how to play again. It's a balance between frustrating/disheartening and elation at how quick some skills start to come back. Ah, the guitar. So many mysteries and wonderments to be found in a bunch of wood and wire. It can be a toy or a tool, a friend or an enemy, therapy or cause for insanity, a security blanket or something that can make you feel useless, an emotional outlet or just a fucking puzzle, but I'll be damned if I'll stop playing the game. And it's just a hunk of fucking wood. I still can't get over that. For those that don't know it, Little wing has a fantastic chord progression. Here it is, give it a try: Notice there's one bar of 6/4. Just play each chord for two beats. 4/4 ! e- ! G ! a- ! e- ! b- ! a- ! 6/4 ! G F C ! 4/4 ! D ! D !! meggo
gee velvet you could write a song out of that! i know what you mean - i've been at it again too but for me it's way more fun when you have someone to play with (like a lot of things). on another note, did you catch the bills when they came thru? i was all set to see them in london and then i forgot. they tour incessantly so i'm sure i'll get another chance, but i was wondering if anybody got to see them...songs i've been attempting to play are few... freight train (old folk tune, not sure who the original artist is)bad luck blues (again - don't know the artist)alice's restaurant (woodie guthrie? or arlo?) Jaimoe
I've just listened to My Morning Jacket's brand new EP Acoustic Citsuoca three straight times. Buy this fucking album. You should be able to find it for under $9.00. I'm writing a review for it and it should be done tonight. I can't vouch for when Bouche will actually post it on the CD Review's page, but look for it. This EP is beautiful.
