c-towns
Good afternoon all, I'm recovering at work after the JSB/GTB fiasco last night here in Calgary, which blew my mind....just thought I'd throw a topic out to decrease the boredom of my painful Friday afternoon, so What is your favourite released live show? (No collaberations, ie. Plasma) I would have to say mine is Deep Banana Blackout's "Rowdy Duty", this is a must listen for all. Have a goodnsafe weekend all. peaceinjam.jamesd. Mr. Musicface
Wow, tough one! "Live At Leeds" is the obvious answer for me anyway, although the Frogwings "Croakin' At Toad's" is pretty killer. Peace, Mr. M.

AdamH
Frampton Comes Alive....perhaps not. Live is My Jumby was in heavy rotation at my house when it came out, but I'd also side with Jimi at the Fillmore with Band of Gypsies (the 2-disc set)
Guest Low Roller
Violent Femmes "Viva Wisconsin" has been in heavy rotation in my car for three weeks now. Roller approved, Roller recommended.
ike
Obviously you guys haven't listened to Col. Bruce Hampton and the Aquarium Rescue Unit. Their first release is a self titled live album and is by far the best live album I have ever heard. It's not just that the band is awesome, or that the performance is killer, or even that the sound is excellent, it's because it's also their first album. Now who has ever done that? In case you're wondering, Col. Bruce Hampton and the Aquarium Rescue Unit is: Col. Bruce Hampton - lead vocals, guitar Apt. Q258 - drums Oteil Burbridge - bass Matt Mundy - electric mandolin Jimmy Herring - guitar Count Mbutu - congas Chuck Leavell - piano, organ If you don't know this album you have to check it out. Mr. Musicface
Ike, good call!!! I almost forgot about Col. Hampton and ARU, haven't listented to that one in ages but I believe you've inspired me to do so tonight. I don't know if you've heard the Frogwings album mentioned above, but that's another case of a first (and in their case, only) album being a live one... and coincidentally there's some serious line-up overlap with ARU: Butch Trucks - drums Derek Trucks - guitar Marc Quinones - percussion Otiel Burbridge - bass Jimmy Herring - guitar Kofi Burbridge - keyboards and flute John Popper - harp and vocals Peace, - M. Mr. Musicface
The Wassabi Collective's "Masquerade Sessions" is all live but it might be from more than one show. And I believe that's a debut as well, a very kickin' one at that! Yes, it's true, Wassabi Collective are taking over my brain... beware.... - M.
