Del
Rumours are flying on Phantasy Phish that a)Trey has dropped out of the Zooma Tour, and b)Zooma might be cancelled all together... To add weight to the rumours, Trey's website no longer lists the Zooma dates on his tour page... While I'd hate to see Trey fail, with all of the mixed reviews 70 Volt Parade received, it wouldn't surprise me all that much... Anyways, I thought I'd pass the rumour on to all of you... I'll be keeping my eyes open for some sort of confirmation of this in the coming days...
Blane
No, zooma has been cancelled altogether. Was posted on another site (the press release). No shows.
Esau
ZOOMA TOUR CANCELED The producers of the ZOOMA Tour regret to announce that this summer's Tour has been canceled. Ticket refunds for all dates will be given through the outlets where the tickets were purchased. The Zooma Tour was conceived to provide fans with an exceptional musical and entertainment experience. Due to unforeseen circumstances, it has become clear that it would not be possible to provide that experience at the level initially envisioned. Rather than go forward with a tour that falls short of what was conceived, everyone involved has mutually agreed that it is best to cancel the tour altogether. We want to thank all of the fans for their support and the tour's staff for their dedication and hard work on this project. We look forward to exploring new and exciting opportunities in the future. If you purchased your tickets through Trey Anastasio or Ben Harper ticketing pre-sales, the card you placed your order with will automatically be refunded for ticket face value plus all other service and shipping charges. Refunds will begin Friday May 27 and continue until June 2nd. Once the refund is processed you will automatically receive an email confirmation. Please note: it can take up to 2 business days for the refund to show up on your account. If you have any questions, please e-mail tix@musictoday.com If you purchased your ticket(s) through TicketMaster via phone or internet the credit card you used will be automatically refunded. If you purchased from the venue box office or a TicketMaster outlet you must return the ticket to the point of purchase for a refund. Face value plus service charges will be refunded (handling and delivery charges will not be refunded). http://www.zoomatour.com/

secondtube
as i figured...from treyanastasio.com"Fresh off a successful Spring Tour, Trey and his band are gearing up to hit the road again soon. New summer tour info will be announced as soon as dates are confirmed. Check back soon for up-to-date info. In the meantime, take a listen to the new audio clip we`ve posted in the A/V Room. Recorded last January in Nashville, TN during the band`s first studio session, it`s an indicator of great things to come... "Sounds like Trey got bored with the Zooma tour, and told them he was going on his own.

Blane
dunno, maybe it's the other way around and the tour was cancelled due to shit pre-sales (what I heard) and he's since decided to do solo dates.
Del
Yeah, I heard the average Zooma presales were about 1800 per venue... Pretty weak... I'm surprised though, Ben Harper could probably tour alone and fill those venues, it's not like he needed Trey to make up an audience... Either way, it's shitty that Canada gets denied yet another Trey appearance...

guigsy
in other news, i saw an add in the london scene mag for the BSC in Toronto and at the bottom it said there was a VERY special guest to be added... just like that, capitalized and bolded... anyways, are there any rumours of trey or ben harper, or anyone else from zooma, being added to the BSC? the tour stops were only, what, a week apart or so? not too big of a schedule juggle for anyone, i wouldnt imagine.. Freeker
An Announcement From Trey:Last Friday night, I got together with Les, Ray, Skeeto and Peter to talk openly about the strong feelings I've been having that 70 Volt Parade has run its course and that we should end it now while it's still on a high note. Once we started talking, it quickly became apparent that the other guys' feelings, while not all the same as mine, were similar in many ways -- most importantly, that we all love and respect 70 Volt Parade and the 70 Volt Parade audience far too much to stand by and allow it to drag on beyond the point of vibrancy and health. We don't want to become caricatures of ourselves, or worse yet, a nostalgia act. By the end of the meeting, we realized that after almost two months together we were faced with the opportunity to graciously step away in unison, as a group, united in our friendship and our feelings of gratitude. So the 10,000 Lakes Festival will be the final 70 Volt Parade show. We are proud and thrilled that it will be in the fine state of Minnesota. We're also excited for the Bonnaroo show, our last one together. For the sake of clarity, I should say that this is not like the time between Higher Ground and Richmond, which was our last attempt to revitalize ourselves. We're done. It's been an amazing and incredible journey. We thank you all for the love and support that you've shown us. -- Trey Anastasio

On a different note: how's this for a hypothesis - the presales weren't that bad, but they all came from Ben Harper's ticket sales and Trey wouldn't play second fiddle???[as for the legals, I bet there are riders and conditions out the yin yang to keep someone of Trey's stature from having to look foolish...]
MoMack
so...by the new announcement...sounds like might be a little more correct than many of you thought!I may be wrong - but I think the "new announcement" was someone having fun with the old Phish announcement tube... isn't it more or less just cut and paste from last summer's end of phish dealio? Jaimoe
I'd rather see Trey on his own anyway. The co-headling tag drove me away from getting tickets.Bad news for all that were excited about the Zooma concert tour.
