Most home inspections turn up "defects" of some sort. Quite often, they're really inconsequential. A good home inspector will note absolutely everything, just so you're aware, but often they are really minor things, or even things that don't need to be remediated at all if you don't want to bother.

Talk to the home inspector about the report before you get discouraged or spend any money.

(You can also use that report, however, as a bargaining tool when purchasing the house, as I assume that you made it a condition of closing that the inspection doesn't turn up anything too bad. You can certainly suggest that the inspection did turn up some bad defects, therefore, reduce the final sale price by "x".)

Either way, good for you purchasing a home. Doesn't it make you feel like a real grown-up? ;)

I doubt this is going to happen, unless the owner is willing to replace the knob and tube wiring. Since the electrical in the house has this, getting insurance is sketchy.

So Weirdness you'll just have to make do and puke on the parquet ;)

As for Pounder... from Culligan he became a manager at a organic grocery store in Mississauga. They have just gone out of business...
